I'm writing this from my condo at the resort. If it wasn't for the construction, I would probably rate the place a 4 -- the rooms are nice and very clean, the staff is very attentive to detail, and the location is beautiful. But it's a fairly cramped site to begin with, and the construction totally dominates the property. Today we had to move our car because they were digging up the road in front of our condo, and the road to several of the condos is still blocked off tonight. The people staying on those properties parked in front of ours, so I had to park some distance away. It's not impossible to deal with, but very awkward.
My biggest complaint is that construction starts at 8 am, and it's quite noisy, even if you have the windows closed. You don't come to a resort out in the woods expecting to hear construction equipment first thing in the morning.
It'll probably be a great place again after the construction is done, but in the meantime you should understand what you're getting into: dirt, noise, and inconvenience.

We too encountered the construction and it wasnt pleasant. The first we heard of it was an email a week before arrived saying that it would be conducted in localised areas. Due to the short time frame not allowing us to find something elsewhere and the belief that it wouldnt be disruptive we stayed. As noted before the work was extensive, noisy, dirty, incredibly diruptive to the point of not being able to enter site at one point. It is al very well for the managements earlier reply of stating reduced rate but we werent party to this nor made aware at the time of booking of the construction work.
At the end end of the stay I complained as was given a dismissive reply as if they didnt care or at least had the same thing off every departing guest.
The actual accomodation would have been nice if any form of cleaning had been undertaken whilst we were out for the day(a empty beer can was outside our patio when we arrived and was still there three days later). Any chance of wildlife being seen at the sight was minimal due to the noise.
All in all, very poor.

I've been to this hotel with my friends the last two years in December. We liked this hotel becuase it's a good place to stop after a day of skiing/snowboarding as it is close to sunshine or lake louise. As well, Hidden Ridge Resort is more of a condo style hotel (with kitchenettes) that is located about a 5-10 min drive from Banff. The first time we stayed here, we met a lot of people our age in the hot tub, which is centered around the resort. For those of you who like to party, the hotel provides a shuttle bus to banff to the local bars, which was very nice. The rooms were all clean, excellent size, offrered good customer service and were quiet; we would be sure to stay there again.

Construction @ Hidden Ridge

I'm staying at the Hidden Ridge Resort at the moment, please be aware there is major construction going on. Due to last until next year i think. Check out their website for dates.
Currently there is about 4 diggers and quite a few workmen. The entrance to the site looks like a bomb site and there is alot of dust.
Their website says construction is isolated to one part of the site. But i was looking out my front door today at a series of cement mixing lorries driving past. Add to that the noise of reversing beepers and diggers. We've also had a garbage skip parked outside our condo's too. Just had a letter saying they're going to be laying cables outside our condo's tomorrow too.
Construction is 6 days a week. Sunday being your only quiet day.
If you're looking for a peaceful time on the resort you'll probably be dissapointed.
Saying that, rooms are nice and well apppointed. Just make sure you're off site most of the day.
Regards,
Rjm.
