We stayed 2 nights in a Junior Suite with view and balcony to the canal. The complete hotel is very, very nice, the rooms beautiful and the view spectacular. The service was very friendly and the breakfast good (but not exelent). The hotel is a bit off the city and you need a taxi to go downtown. If you're there and the weather is nice you should ask the reception of a scenic flight which is offered by the aero club (old airport).

great location and the restaurant in the hotel was fantastic. dinner was wonderful and the buffet breakfast was unlimited.
only issue is that is is not within walking distance to town and the road leading to the hotel is rough and unpaved. so after a very active day - we were pleased to just relax in our room before an excellent dinner. views are fantastic and the small sea shore in front of the hotel were a plus. would definately stay there again. rooms were large and bed very comfortable. large bath with all of the amenities.

Stayed at Los Caquenes with my wife and two other couples in february 2008.
The rooms are a bit small but the views of the channel are very serene. The hotel staff was good but definitely lack some experience. We had excellent service at check in but at one point my wife found one of the managers to be somewhat unwelcoming. Not a big deal, but they need a bit more training.
The food at the lodge is outstanding. In fact, I was shocked at the variety of dinner options and the flavors the chef managed to bring out. The food far exceeded our expectations.
We played golf at the Ushuaia Golf Club as well. You can rent clubs and balls at the clubhouse. It is a 9 hole course with a bit of a strange layout but was a fun excursion. Cost for 18 is about $70 US per person. Bring warm clothes!
It was a good 3 night stay and we would recommend it.
