Firstly I must say that the company was obliging with our conversations on the telephone before arrival. And seeing there was a small child involved his needs were met. But...
The accommodation was not as clean as it should have been. There is water damage on the ceiling. Repairs are not being maintained. The outside courtyard not swept and clean, the BBQ unuseable as it was not clean.
The caretaker/manager was rude to me and other members of our party for no apparent reason .
Also very noisy had to sleep with earplugs in.
No, I will not stay there again.

Sorry but this place is a dump......the handrails on balcanies are brocken (wood rotted) and are unsafe - so you cannot even go out on the balconies. Not to mention my 16 month old son was not allowed out there so the doors had to remain locked at all times. Also the celings in the two apartments we stayed in contained mould and had been badly patched up?The overall cleanliness of the apartments is poor - our outdoor area had about half inch of soil covering it, when we phoned reception they just delivered a broom and told us to fix it (poor customer service) Also the manager proceeded to call one of our guests a "w*#ker" so steer guy of the manager - he is a loose cannon? I would not stay again and would recemmend that you look elsewhere if you are looking for a cleen, comfortable and pleasant place as this place is none of the above.

My wife and I and our 2 young children stayed here for 4 days in mid April. I was interested to read a couple of recent reviews highly critical of the place and the owners. For our part, we enjoyed our stay. I think the apartments probably need $10,000 spent on each of them to give them back their life - they are a little run down, paint peeling in some places, carpet a bit worn, furnishings needing updating, courtyards needing a good scrub, bathrooms updated etc. You get my drift. However, they are certainly not the worst. Spacious, well appointed and easy to live in, with very convenient access to Faulkner Park over the back, and to Toorak Road and Chapel Street restaurants and shops. Secure parking underneath. As for the owners, we found them very pleasant. We had an issue with the dryer and a toilet seat, and both were fixed/replaced by the next day. They allowed us to park an extra car underneath (2 cars) which wasn't part of the deal. A cot and child gates were provided free of charge. We paid $290 pn for a 3 bedroom apartment. In my experience in Melbourne any 3 bedroom go for a minimum of about $250 pn, so $290 wasn't too bad. My summary, you could do a lot worse.

We stayed in a townhouse which was in poor condition. When you are paying $270 a night I expected better. Examples including water damage throughout the ceilings, broken rails on the baloney and a shower that would scold you and then freeze you without you adjsuting the taps.
The poor condition of the townhouse was insiginificant relative to the customer service. Namely the managers of this complex who were happy to wonder into your courtyard area unannounced and when questioned the response was " I am the owner". When asked not to come into unannounced the response given " I can do what I want I am the owner". The so called "owner" proceeded to call one of the other people I was staying in a "[--]" (you get the drift).
Overall I would not recommend this establishment.

I have never written a hotel review before, and am normally a person who tries to see the positive in anything, but the treatment of guests that I recently witnessed by the managers of Quest South Yarra Mews has forced me to alert potential visitors to reconsider. We arrived to find our three bedroom townhouse in fairly average condition - we spent the first half an hour cleaning a filthy courtyard to enable a young child to play freely outside. On the second day a very gruff individual entered the property, announced he was 'the owner' (this turned out to be the manager, Scott McGurgan), and virtually ordered us to remove some washing that was drying in the sun as he needed to hose down the backyard (What part of Stage 3a water restrictions allows you to water hard surfaces I am not quite sure of). Later that morning when I opened the back door to let some air in, Mr McGurgan reappeared and slammed the door shut. When I asked that he refrain from entering the property without knocking first, Mr McGurgan burst into a round of obsencities that I have never in my life witnessed from any one in the 'hospitality industry'. Wrongly thinking that we would be able to seek the support of front office to address this matter, we soon learned that this was Mr McGurgan's wife - And no surprises that she displayed very little interest in taking on board our complaints. We enquired about cancelling the rest of our booking, however, we were informed that we would be required to pay for almost the rest our stay in cancellation fees. This site is therefore my only recourse to take this matter further, and I strongly encourage any who reads this to think carefully before booking accomodation here in what is otherwise a very conveniently located place from which to explore Melbourne's best attractions.
