Porto Salvo

We stayed at Porto Salvo for 4 nights in early June.
We felt very welcomed from the first day. All the staff are very friendly, kind and polite.
The room we had was very spacious, extremely clean and the view was very nice.
It keeps the peace and calm of the old convent, the breakfast is amazingly good and the bathroom has always been kept very clean.
We rented bicycles and we explored Sorrento on them although it is very close to the centre of Sorrento and train station by walk. The bus station is only round the corner if you prefer taking the bus to town and there are some nice restaurants nearby as well in case you prefer avoiding the chaos of the town at dinner time.
There is also a car park if you are renting a car whilst travelling through the Amalfi Coast.
It is a perfect location to use as a base and go go to Capri, Positano, Amalfi, Pompeii as there are buses, ferrys and trains that go to these places from Sorrento.
I will definitely recommend Porto Salvo and would love to go back in the future.
Great value hotel for the Amalfi Coast

Stayed here for a week and was very pleased with choice. Above average for this price and star rating. 2km outside Sorrento but the village runs into the town so you hardly know you are outside it. Easy walk into town (except for the heat) and the local bus is very convenient. Decent choice of restaurants locally and unlimited choice in Sorrento. Lovely terraced views of the bay from nearby cafe and some sea views from rooms. We opted for an ensuite room which was spotlessly clean, pleasantly furnished, of a reasonable size and had the all important working air conditioning and good shower. Don't book here if you want facilities to lounge around and sunbathe (18 Euro at nearby hotel gets you pool access or you can go to the local beach but don't expect sand). Do book here if you want a very well priced option with friendly staff, more than decent breakfast, quieter location than in town and good connections to Pompeii and Herculaneum by train and Amalfi, Positano and Capri by ferry with a local bus ride to the port. Buses to the coastal towns also pass through here.

This was a peaceful place to stay away from the tourist madness of Sorrento. A short walk to the trainstation and Sorrento, you dont really need to take the bus there.. about a 20 min pleasant walk.
We booked a room with double bed and shared bathroom. We got quite a decent size room with a window facing the bay of naples. The staff were really friendly and the buffet breakfast included in the price of stay was quite unique for italy, since we werent staying at a bed and breakfast.
There is free internet use and a fantastic restaurant nearby we just couldnt help going to every night, it was called Terra Rosso, ask the staff.
Definitely a nice stay and they have facilities for disabled people as well. The only thing was that there were only two bathrooms available for the people with no ensuite rooms booked, but the bathrooms were huge and they seemed to be always free when I wanted to use them. It was really clean as well!
Its close to all the sights, Capri, Amalfi coast, Pompeii. We even made it out to Paestum, but it was a LONG day.
