I am a little bias. I have been going to the IP about 4 times a year since 1999. This place was becoming a dump before Katrina. If you haven't been to the new IP since the storm, you will not think you are in the same hotel.
We were able to check in when we arrive at 1 PM. Normally do not have a problem with an early check in. I am a "low roller" and play slots. My two nights were comped from a mailer.
Short walk ffor the parking garage into the lobby. Some new people do get confused with the two banks of elevators. The bank on the "West side" is for the garage and pool areas. The ones on the "East" side are for the rooms and restaurants if there are minors. Minors are not permitted to walk through the casino.
Room was on the 27th floor overlooking the new remodel pool area with a monster big screen TV. Room was very nice, great beds and a flat screen TV. Was told that mini bars are coming. IP does have in room coffee pots. (Beau does not). The room was clean and very acceptable but the Beau and Hard Rock are nicer. You are also paying for it.
Food at the IP is generally good. You will get some misses. Dinner buffet is the best of the three. Breakfast is average. If you are going to pay for breakfast, take a short trip to the Beau Rivage, they have the best breakfast buffet in town for the same price.
Besides the buffet, there are three "high end" restaurants and a 24 hour cafe. There's also a "Starbucks " type coffee stand in the lobby which also has hotdogs and premade sandwiches.
There is also a late night "club" in the lobby which gets busy for the 21 to 35 crowd.
I have found customer service to be very good. Front desk is well operated by "Keith", front end mgr who has been there since I have been coming. If you have any issues, try to see him.
There was a big Black Jack Tourament this same weekend but thedid not notice any major increase of people except in the lobby area.
One thing about customer service, I have found that employees that have been in the area before Katrina understand the importance of making you happy. They really appreciate us coming back to help re-build this area. They will do anything within their power to make you a happy camper.
Large selection of slots and tables. I will also tell you a little secret. Find the "new" section on the second floor. There are two areas. One is non-smoking, but other, no seems to know about. It was half full on a Friday night and we were able to get 5 seats together at the poker bar. The poker bar has nice big windows overlooking the Back Bay. I am not a big VP player but I am told the odds are about the best you will find in Biloxi. See Lenny for great service in keeping your favorite beverage glass full.
Couple of things, I am a smoker so smoke does not bother me. Some non-smokers do complain of smoke odors through out the building. There is a non-smoking slot area on the second floor to the right of the great sport's bar with about 30 TVs.
Second, there isn't much for people under 21. The pool is great but the movie theater is gone. No arcade. Kids can play video cames in the room. Kids will get bored especially if the weather is bad.
I have not had a bad experience in any of my stays and any problems are corrected by just being respectful and reasonable to the staff.

My wife and I stayed at IP for 3 nights when we went to Biloxi/New Orleans. All we can say is WOW! Check in line was long, but as good as this resort is, it is totally understandable. The line moved quickly and we got our wonderful room....a king size bed non smoking room on the 28th Floor overlooking the Gulf. Breathtaking views and soft wonderful bed.
The casino was very crowded on the 1st floor, but when you get to the 2nd floor Table Game area.....what a change! Not that crowded, dealers and floorstaff were very friendly and talkative (which I enjoy very much) and it was a wonderful gaming experience. I do not mind playing in crowds, but this was wonderful. I was told that eventually ALL of the table games were going to be moved upstairs when the casino expands into their convention center.
Among other amenities we enjoyed: Their Oriental restaurant "Tien". We had dinner there one night and we were treated to sitting at a hibachi grill overlooking the Back Bay and we were treated to some of the best food I have ever had at a restaurant like this. We had a friendly chef, but most of our table mates were from a bachelor party and quite a few of them were drunk. Luckily, they were mostly friendly.
My wife also enjoyed a pedicure at their Spa. She is diabetic and making sure her feet are taken care of is very important. The lady who did it spent an hour on her feet, and was very kind and engaging. She also gave her tips on the care of her feet and we also bought the cream that was used on them. The Spa and workout facilities were VERY clean and sanitary.
As of gaming and play, the slots were very good, and I did get some good hits on them. There is a wide variety of tables, but they do not have Flop Poker or Carribean Stud. Our game of choice is Pai Gow, during the day the minimums were $10/hand, however on the weekends, they did range from $15 to $25/hand. However they are able to keep them that high, as they had plenty of players wanting to play at that price.
So....having 3 nights comped, having wonderful food and not having to pay that much for it (or nothing at all), and also bringing home $280.00 more than I started with, the IP will get more of our time in the future. We look forward to seeing all of you again!!

The Jacuzzi Suite is P.I.M.P. !!!!

My finance and I stayed at the IP for her birthday. I read many reviews before going and the only complaints I saw was about the smokers, Both me and my girl are smokers so it didn't matter to me. Also my girl insisted that we get a Jacuzzi Suite, and the IP was all I could find.
The Room was magnificent. It had plenty of move a round space, a HUGE plasma TV, beautiful bathroom with a his and her vanity. Closed door shower and a wonderful Jacuzzi. It had a lovely view of the Back Bay of Biloxi. The people there were really nice and helpful. The Pool was jaw dropping beautiful at night. It felt really romantic with the cabanas and the bar was awesome. The casino was cool although we aren't major gamblers. We didn't even have to leave the hotel because there was a great bistro down stairs that stayed open 24hrs. The little gift shop was a tad pricey (6.50 for a pack of cigarettes, geez) but that was my fault for not getting some before hand. I heard there is a movie theater too but we didn't get a chance to go see it. My finance and I loved this place so much and the price was not bad at all. We are going back next month. If you live near the Gulf Coast, and want to have a quick getaway, the IP is definitely the place to stay. I loved it!!!
Disappointed TWICE

Just got back from visiting IP. First problem, they had to change our room after we had gotten in because it was a non-smoking room and I had requested a smoking room. Our first visit they had to move us on account of noise.I sent my husband on down to the casino and then it ended up taking them 45 minutes to get us moved. Their excuse was "we have too many people checking in to help you now." After I finally got moved all I wanted to do was take a nice hot shower. Oops! the drain didn't work properly and i had to stand in water each time I took a shower.YUK Plus! the vent didn't work, so everything would get all steamed up. You really need a vent in a bathroom. Then my remote wouldn't work the TV and they had to send maintenance up to see about it. It's not easy changing the dials manually on those new TV's. It happened that the maid had knocked off the sensor. By the way, none of the maids can speak any English so get ready to hand signal. Finally got down to casino, but was too tired to have any real fun!!!!!! Oh I forgot, the lady at the front desk did comp is with a meal(after I asked her to) and it kind of got my goat that should wrote on the comp ticket GUEST INCONVENIENCE, should have been HOTEL INCOMPETENCE!!
