You can't doubt that Wellington is a well operated and nice hotel in the business area of Stockholm. You need to take a taxi or subway if you arriving to the Central Station.
The hotel is small, the common areas (reception and bar) are cramped and we had to wait for get a seat during breakfast time.
The large room had nice beds and was equipped with everything you can expect and need. Contemporary design with an "English touch" and wooden floors. It's elegant but not exclusive.
As a Choice Club member we had free pizza from the well-known pizzeria just across the street. Otherwise, the hotel is not the place to hang out when you are in Stockholm.
I would stay here again. For a shopping or romantic weekend I prefer to stay a little bit more downtown where you also will find nice hotels for the same value of money.

I've stayd at this hotel for 4 nights w/ my husband and daughter, and have nothing to complaint. It's a nice small hotel in a good area and very near to the city's main attractions. I've stayed at the top floor, which I think has the best rooms w/ a small balcony. The only not so positive point is that the room was little too warm, but I must say that this must have been a very hot summer in Stocholm.

Hotel Wellington is located in the nice area Østermalm in Stockholm. The street is quiet and has only one way traffic. It takes only 5 minutes to reach the downtown area. There are several good restaurants locates in Østermalm, some are upper class, but others, like the thai place in Linne'gatan, offers cheap and excellent food. The rooms are nice and clean, and the staff very friendly. Good breakfast and a cosy athmosphere. I can absolutely recommens this hotel!

I stayed one night on Monday 28 November 2005. The hotel is in a quiet street, one stop on the T-bahn (metro) from the Central Rail station (itself the terminus for the 20 mins express train to Arlanda Airport), so is well located. Leave Ostermalmstorg Metro station at the Ostermalmsrorg (NOT Birger Jarlsgatan) exit I last stayed at this hotel in 1994 and the hotel looked much as I remembered it. Friendly staff. Compact, well equipped (e.g. with iron and ironing board) bedroom (No. 09) with good lighting but which was difficult to get warm in the first day of snow this winter. Bathroom had WC and shower cabinet. I could not work out how to use the shower and needed to call reception to come and show me. Breakfast in the small room by reception was buffet style, with reasonable selection of breads, cereals, cheeses and a little fruit. I paid EUR 170 for room and breakfast - expensive for western Europe though not for central Stockholm. If in the area, its location and friendliness makes it a "stay again".
