I booked a room at this hotel in feb, for may as my friend was getting married there. I wanted to book early to make sure i got a room as i am pregnant and didnt want to mess around with a hotel miles away. Well i wish i had now! I rang the week before the wedding to confirm, a deposit had gone out of my account but i like to check. Good job really as they didnt have me down for a room!! they asked for a fax of my account to see deposit which i did a.s.a.p. They didnt get back, i rang again, no one got back, i rang again and was told "dont worry", "dont worry" im 4 month pregnant, travelling from notts and i hav'nt got a room. Two days before wedding they finally sort me a room, so i ask for a fax of confirmation........nothing, i ring again, nothing. We got there the reception staff were rude, we had no appology and our room was not worth ?80 that we paid for the night. The only good thing was the waiting staff they were lovely, the bar and reception staff should take some hospitality lessons from them.
Dont stay there!!!1

I stayed at the devonshire hotel for 2 nights with my partner and daughter we arrived late on friday really tired and just wanted to get to sleep, but couldnt because there was a party in the hotel with extremly loud music which didnt stop until about 2am after this the couple in room beside us decided it was fun to slam doors and shout at each other when we finally did get to sleep it was at around 3am, the same thing happened on the second night

We loved this hotel, though it appears tired in areas the staff and food was fanstatic, the gardens were beautiful, very close to the motorway easy getaway, value for money

This hotel is perfect to stay in on business. I found it good value @£45/night incl an adequate breakfast. It has a lot more charm than the chain hotels. The staff were friendly & helpful and the free wifi means that my skype phone worked perfectly. It has great parking and a back entrance which means that you don't have to head out to the Edge Lane roadworks. The room is dated but fine. I would definitely go back. Great little bar down stairs.

Not in the best part of town, although handy for the motorway, and a quick getaway. Staff were friendly. Hotel's seen better days. My room was very spacious, and quiet, although the decor a bit dated. Bed was old and not very comfortable, and I was getting warm water from both taps in the (otherwise ok) bathroom.
Breakfast was fine.
