As I was flying out from Cologne airport, the hotel was ideally situated. I also visited the IMM exhibition in Cologne (just 14 minutes by train an free of charge) . Will definitely stay there in future.

I stayed there during the photkina trade show Sept. 2008 for five nights. Their web site does not mention this, but the hotel is a three minute walk to the train station. That is important for business people or anyone who is staying there but does not have a car. A half hour ride into Cologne by train. A nice old hotel, very friendly English speaking owner, great breakfast, very clean. The rooms vary significantly as in any older hotel, in size etc. And yes, the building looks as nice as in the photos on their web site. www.kronprinzhotel.de I had an inexpensive room (105 Euros - that is cheap during a major trade show) and it was basic but clean and comfortable. I would certainly stay again although ideally, a hotel right in Cologne would be best for a five day trade show. A quiet area but with some restaurants within walking distance. Superb food at the place right next door; cannot recall the name right now.

I stayed in this hotel about 10 years ago. I have been travelling all around the world since then and have yet to come across a hotel with such high cost to performance ratio. The best part of the stay was the breakfast. The only problem that I faced was communication with the hotel staff as I was not very conversant with German language. I was planning a holiday with my wife and was searching for this hotel and came across this site. Let us see if we can make it to Troisdorf after so long. cheers!
