Also known as the Avenue House Hotel, my wife and were a little concerned about this hotel having read the Trip Advisor reports (this was a short notice booking and there were few alternatives in the Fareham area, it was only for one night, so we took a chance). I am please to report that our worries were unfounded, we found this hotel very pleasant and reasonable value for money (£70.50 double room B&B). Whilst facilities are limited (e.g. no restaurant for lunch or dinner and no bar), the property is only 10 minutes walk from Fareham town centre which has a wide range of shops, pubs, bars, restaurants and cinema. The train station is just 5 minutes walk away. Rooms come with usual facilities such as tea making, and TV (with Freeview channels), as well as modem points and free Wi-Fi access (although we didn’t use these). As mentioned above, there is no restaurant, but a good range of TV dinners can be ordered in at reasonable prices (this is an excellent facility which I have never come across before). Bathroom was small, but adequate. There is ample easy parking and the hotel has a small but pleasant garden. Staff were polite and helpful, although at breakfast, the single waiter seemed overwhelmed even though it didn’t seem that busy. Breakfast itself was cooked well, but was not that generous in terms of quantity. A good hotel for a short stop over, we would be very happy to use it again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Avenue Hotel in Fareham, Hants and were very disappointed with every part of the hotel.
Prior to booking our stay we viewed the "Avenue Hotels" website and were very impressed with the look and description of the hotel. We made our reservation direct with the hotel all went well and we were still very impressed.
On arriving at the hotel we reported to the reception desk, however there was no-one to be seen, we waited over 5 minutes when the receptionist came through the front door saying "sorry I just needed to nip to the shop for some ciggies". (Not a good 1st impression).
We were then pointed in the direction of our room and whilst going up the stairs we noticed a number of dead bugs laying on the carpet. Our room was very small with ex-army type furniture and there was also nail clippings on our window seal.
We went down to the receptionist to complain and the manager was called. The Manager was very unhelpful nor appologetic and said that he had our credit card details so we he would charge us if we checked out. After a few hostile words were exchanged we were given a different room. (Slightly better).
In the morning we went to have a bath but there was no hot water, we went to breakfast and a number of guests were complaining of the same issue.
We ended up staying for 1 night and then we checked out, we would never return to this hotel as very poor standard of decor and staff very unhelpful !! (We have stayed at much better hotels in the area). Dont be fooled by the website description...

This hotel is not of the stanard one would expect, its more like a converted family house
There is little insulation so all noises can be heard
There is no food available apart from breakfast and at breakfast you sit so close together it is uncomfortable
The hotel seems to base all its ads on the garden and not on the actual facilities that are tired and worn out
Shower was awfull, settee falling to pieces and Tv so poor it was un-watchable
Wi-fi was not availble and un relaible even though advertised
There are not many decent hotels these day that insist on payment for the full stay on arrival-but once you've paid you cornered-and they know it!

We only stayed one night at The Avenue Hotel in Fareham Hampshire but it was a very pleasant experience. There is plenty of parking and the rooms were very comfortable and clean as was the en-suite bathroom. It was only B& B but you had a menu in the room and could order food and drink to be eaten in your room. The breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked and worth the £5.50 each that it cost. So if you wanted bed only this was possible. The only slight downside to the hotel is the main A27 which runs outside. We were there on a friday night and you could hear the traffic but that is probably because we come from a quite area and are not used to any traffic noise at night. There is a pub only yards from the hotel and many places to eat nearby. We would definately go there again.
