I stayed 4 mights at the Savoy, mainly chosen because of the free supper included, a nice toucThe hotel building is great, but inside they have modernised it in a way that is wrong to the original athmosphere of the building. My room was also quite boringly decorated, not to say "cheap", but the bathroom was nice and spacy, with both a tub AND a separate shower cabinet. The loft where they serve supper was delightful, and open all day to relax in. Many guests brought their lunches their to eat and to have their free coffee, great way to save money. Breakfast was good, and breakfast room had great location with views to the street outside and the national gallery. The staff was also nice. All in all a pleasant stay, but nicer decor would add extras to this hotel.

+Nice staff
+Nice cozy loft up top with warm daily snacks
-Noisy
-Not much facilities (no gym/pool/spa/large meeting areas (aside from loft)
Rooms are all varied in size and dimension. Some large and some small. I got stuck with a smaller one, but its not that bad. Bathroom size was good. Nothing much remarkable to say about it

Great central location only a couple of minutes from the main street. I would have no complaints at all about the hotel.
I was lucky to have got one of the larger double rooms towards the back of the hotel - some of the rooms towards the front seem to be quite small. The bathroom was quite large as was the room in general.
Breakfast is continental style with sufficient amount of options but nothing lavish. The hotel also provides a light evening meal (soup and salads) included in the room rate on the fifth floor.
I found the staff to be helpful and polite although it is a little annoying that the restaurant and bar close on Sunday and Monday evening.

After reading earlier reviews I requested a quiet, large room not overlooking the courtyard - on arrival we were offered a small room overlooking the courtyard! I was assured by the hotel that the noisy courtyard situation no longer exists. But being already aware of my concerns they were also ready to show us two others facing the road. In each case there was a compromise - larger room or smaller bathroom. We chose the larger room, which had a miniscule bathroom, very comfortable for a 3 day stay, overlooking the road where trams occasionally rumble by but not really a disturbance.
Excellent breakfast. Also exceptional was the free buffet in the evening in the attractive loft - which meant that it wasn't always necessary to buy a (very expensive) restaurant meal.
Very good location, next door to the National Gallery.
