I booked this hotel through Wotif and got a great bargain with breakfast for 2 thrown in. The hotel is currently ungoing a major revamp. My husband and I stayed in a newly redecorated room and it had everything we needed... LCD television, mini bar, big bathroom, coffee and tea making facilities and an extremely comfortable bed.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful, secure parking was also included in our accommodation cost and breakfast on the top floor was self service but had a wide range of choices.
The location is great. Close to shopping and eateries.
Only grumble... we were on the second floor at the front of the building and heard quite a lot of noise from the street- boy racers and (small but annoying) the pedestrian signal beeping!

I recently stayed at the Terraces on Wickham for an overnight stay between flights. The hotel was selected by my travel agent after I instructed her to book a hotel near the CBD. While not right in the CBD, this hotel is a short walk to the centre of Brisbane. The walk to town is largely downhill from the hotel.
Check in was efficient. The hotel was under significant renovations when we arrived which affected the appearance of the front of the hotel, however my booking was handled in a friendly and efficient manner.
I had a room on the 9th floor. It was a compact room which appeared to have been recently renovated - Plasma/LCD television hanging on the wall, up to date bathroom and bedroom decor. The room was clean and equipped with a mini bar. It also featured a high end brand clock radio, which I was impressed with. The room also featured a balcony with beautiful city views, especially impressive on the clear night that I stayed here. The room was very nice, albeit compact.
My colleague and I decided to walk to the Mall in town to dine rather than dine at the hotel, however we were slightly disappointed on returning at 22:00 to find that the bar had already closed. We did not try the restaurant at the hotel during our stay.
All in all, a good experience, but noting specifically memorable. I found it difficult manouvering a car in the car park due to the number of posts supporting the ceiling, but as it was not very busy this was not a problem.
Would probably stay here again, is deserving of a 3 star rating.

I have stayed here on 2 occasions and really enjoyed the peace it offers. There is a lovely view of the Roma gardens which are well worth a visit. It is in close proximity to the Mall, although it is quite a steep walk back. I would stay here on any other visit to Brisbane. A very nice restuarant with a great breakfast is also within the hotel. all in all very comfortable

The other reviews aptly describe the very poor quality of the older rooms (some floors have been renovated now). These old rooms should not be used in their current state, as they reflect badly on the Accor brand, and paying over $100/night is disgraceful. The only question I have is how can they allow things to get so bad before deciding to renovate? -( rooms should have been updated a long time ago!). On the positive, the staff do try their best, and the breakfast and location is quite good.

Do not believe for a minute, what you see on the website!
Staying at Terraces on Wickham has been nothing short of a nightmare.
Despite its location (if you treasure convenience, sleep at the bus stop), everything about it is dreary and absolutely horrible.
Asthmatics- be wary: I had to check into the hospital on my third night because the curtains probably had never been washed in its hanging life, and the carpets in the room are reek of old socks and are very dusty. The balcony is old and unclean, the sink doesn't work. For a place that is first-world like Brisbane, this is misery.
I wouldn't wish this place upon anyone and feel from the bottom of my heart, that all their beautiful impressions of what the place will look like post-renovation, just isn't worth you trying it out for now. It is hell if you do!
