While I never write reviews (good or bad) about my hotel stays, I feel compelled to write this one. Once a year, 4-5 of my best, lifelong friends meet at a spa and resort around the U.S. for some much needed down time, pampering, fellowship, and all out fun--without our spouses/partners and children. We only require 4 days (Fri-Mon) where we set aside all the stresses the world has put before us and we have a ball. We go to a different resort each year.
This year's pick was the Boca Raton Resort and Club. About 4 days before the trip, one of my girlfriends visited this site and read the reviews. Yikes!!!! We had not had a bad visit yet (knock on wood) and the reviews were not looking good. I called and spoke with Rebecca and informed her of our concerns that our girls' weekend was going to be ruined! She noted our concerns but guaranteed that we'd have a great stay.
Boy, was she wrong! Words cannot express how superb our stay was from the moment we arrived at the resort until the day we left. The Bungalows were to die for!!!! After we were greeted by the bellman, we met the most fantastic woman, Monica, who was like our own personal assistant--she even telephoned on her day off to make sure all of our needs were taken care. Our 2-bedroom suite was quite chic with contemporary furniture, appliances, art work, etc. We had a nice patio we entered through French doors from the living area. The place was clean and sparkled. All of the staff were professional and kind--I remember stating that I had never stayed at a hotel where everyone seemed to be happy to be at work!!!! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that the spa was amazing. I had the oxygen facial and the ritual bath--if you do nothing else in life, this is one experience you must have!!!
We loved our experience so much that next year we will be back--something we've never done (i.e., visit a resort more than once)!!! Thanks, Rebecca, Monica, and crew!
Happy travels.

We have repeatedly visited the property over the years. The service is outstanding. We go for the tennis. The courts are the best and most maintained we have ever played on and the tennis staff takes good care of us. But the other hotel amenities are great, too. The spa is luxurious. The yacht club rooms are quiet and comfortable. The tower rooms have magnificent views. The the grounds are beautiful. We love the Boca Raton Resort & Club.

Stayed the for 5 nights on business a couple of years ago. The hotel had excellent service and the room was exeptional. Only downside would be the price. Good service and accpmodation cost good money

As other reviews have said--the staff are friendly and helpful (except the blond barmaid at Bar Luna). I stayed in "the Cloisters," apparently the oldest part of the hotel--and the age showed: the corridors stank of cleaning fluid? chlorine? something strong and chemical-ly. My room (actually my second room; even the bellman couldn't believe the first one they tried to stick me with--overlooking the a.c. apparatus!) was clean but in need of renovation. The ceiling was cracked with blistering paint. The shower leaked. The in-room coffee maker didn't work. It took an electrician to get the internet to work. On the plus side, the closet was huge and the view pleasant; the room was quiet. My gripe about the "convenience fee" is that it was supposed to cover the cost of a daily newspaper, which I received only once; the cost of the internet (funny--when I finally logged on it was labeled "complementary), and two bottles of "complementary" water. My question to the Boca Resort is: how can you charge a fee for items you have the nerve to call "complementary"? I don't mind paying a price for luxury and service, but the BRRC exhorts the price but does not follow through with the appropriate level of luxe. At least not in the Cloisters. Again on the plus side, the Old Homestead steak house was great--service and food top notch.
Not a place I'd return to, and if another business conference were scheduled here, I'd think twice about attending. It was something of a cultural experience, though: when I arrived I thought I'd made a wrong turn into an expensive nursing home. I was the youngest person(I'm in my 50s) besides the help by approx. 25 years. The buildings and grounds were awash with women who looked like they'd had their first face lift in 1964, and men who were working on their fourth trophy wife. Good people watching!

The Boca Raton Resort was disappointing from the moment I arrived. Attended a conference and my guest room and bathroom was dated, dingy, and smelled moldy. Most of the common areas of the resort were tired – the resort is in need of a total renovation to justify its high prices. The resort grounds are beautiful and the golf facilities were excellent. The service was deplorable - most of the staff was rude, condescending, indifferent, and unhelpful.
