I had a pleasant two days at the Georgetown Inn. In a city not known for good value hotels, the Georgetown Inn is a good alternative, located in the heart of Georgetown, with plenty of shops and restaurants to choose from. One of the good things is that you can also walk to central areas in DC, as I did to our offices in Connecticut Av. The staff is friendly and helpful, although I think they need better management practices to avoid mistakes in the bills, which happened twice to me. The hotel has a basic gym and a modest business centre, but they allow you to do the minimum necessary in terms of exercise and work.

This Inn is an excellent spot from which to explore Washington DC, and the Georgetown suburb. It has smart shops and restaurants all within walking distance and the Potomac River and Canalway are within easy reach. A hop-on, hop-off bus collects from the Inn, as does the Metro-Bus and the Circulator-Bus, all of which make it extremely easy to explore the whole of the DC area without the need for a car. This is a small hotel rather than an Inn/B&B but deal for this location.

We made our travel arrangements based on a friend's recommendation. We were very pleased with The Georgetown Inn. The hotel is clean and elegant. The location is ideal! Shops, restaurants, nightlife and galleries surround the Inn, making it the perfect little nook to stay in.
About 1.5 blocks from the hotel on Potomac Street, you'll find the Georgetown Cupcake. If you can, go early, since they change their flavors every day and the popular ones (like Red Velvet) go fast! Delicious cupcakes right around the hotel!

Everything about this hotel is down-at-heel, and, remarkably, blithely charges $350+ per night. Barely pleasant front desk staff, incompetent bell staff, and a room that needs a serious hosedown. The carpet is stained, the walls cracked and peeling, and mold in the shower. Shameful.

I stayed here for one night and found the property adequate. The location is central to Georgetown University where I was interviewing some students. The hotel is small and somewhat charming. The room is a bit small although the bed was comfortable. I didn't care for the miniature bathroom. My problem with the hotel came up after I checked out. After reviewing my credit card statement I noticed I was charged more than the receipt I was given. I called the hotel several times trying to get an answer. The hotel's accounting department doesn't return calls and hardly ever answers. Eventually I was told that I was charged for long distance charges and bottles of water. I didn't use either during my short stay and asked for a credit back for these charges. After several calls to the hotel my credit has not been posted. I am frustrated and about to dispute these charges with the CC company. Beware!
