If transiting or in Guangzhou on business, Novotel at Baiyun airport is a great choice. Brand new, super clean, quiet, good pool and you can walk to the airport (or take their little shuttle bus). Great staff, 6-th floor business centre nice and quiet. I come to GZ a lot on buiness and find many hotels in town a chore if you have a late arrival or early departure (which always seem to be my case). Definetly stay here next time I'm in GZ on business.

Having spent two weeks in China, needed a hotel in Guangzhou for two nights before flying home, the Novotel was recommended so I booked it. The hotel was heaven in comparisson to others that I had stayed in, very modern, very western, very near the airport. Rooms similar in design to the Novotel in Hong Kong, and a 3 minute walk to the departure hall of the airport. If you don't mind being away from the city then this is definately the place to stay.

This hotel is great if you're in transit through Guangzhou Baiyun airport. It's a few minutes walk from the terminal building. Unfortunately the pool is outside and not heated so in dcecember the water is COLD.

We arrived from Manila at 10:00am for our connecting flight to Sydney/Australia departing at 9:00pm. We saw the advertisement of the new Novotel for day rates and checked it out. We paid RMB350.00 (US$46.00) to use the room from 11:30am to 6:30pm. All staff spoke English very well and were very friendly and helpful. Room was very nicely done up, great bathroom, all necessities available. At least 8 English TV Channels. Room service was great and very fast. Having been to China many times we were pleasantly surprised by the high standard and will use the hotel again.
