Good overnight stay at airport
Guest name: brian796
Stayed here for a few hours on an overnight stay between two international destinations. Hotel was very clean, modern, and had the amenities you would expect. Airport shuttle was pain-free and quick. Check-in / check-out was a bit slower than I would have hoped. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Really bad check-in delays (yet again)

I have stayed at this hotel many times due to its location so very close to the airport. Without a doubt, the biggest problem is the speed (or lack of it) of the check-in process. After arriving at the hotel around midnight with a confirmed reservation, the check-in time has never taken less than 20 minutes and sometimes it has been almost 40 minutes. This seems a very easy problem for the hotel to solve, but for some reason the dont fix it.

I stayed at Novotel Bangkok Airport only once as my flight (with British Airways, of course) was cancelled. The hotel is located right across the motorway from the airport building but don't think you one could walk there. Hotel offers free shuttle service to and from the airport - it's very convenient and the minibuses go every 10 mins.
The building itself is quite pleasant - main lobby with its extremely high celling is overlooked by quite a few bedrooms. Fortunately, I had one of the courtyard rooms, which was nice and quiet.
Check-in proccess was pretty effective, especiall taking into account the fact that I had only booked online 15 mins earlier (at the airport). The only surprise was the fact that as I decided to use my Visa debit card, I was asked for payment upfront and the staff seemed a bit confused.
Bedroom was a standard hotel room - no wows but tidy, clean and comfy bed. Internal window between bathroom and the room was a nice feature (with a shade for those full of shyness). Bathroom size and amenities better than expected - lovely and huge shower cubicle.
I paid BAHT 6,000 (approx. GBP 100) and think it was a little bit too expensive for Thailand and for what it was. But again, if you there (I mean Bangkok Airport), there isn't much choice involved.

This hotel is just amazing. Great staff, great location, great food and super security. We have stayed here three times and have enjoyed it every time. If you have a few days in Bangkok stay here and if you must go to town take a taxi. The pool is unbelievable as is the pool bar. The dining room on the main floor has a menu or buffet. The buffet has an assortment of food you will not believe. Security is awsome, the guys by the elevators with the earplugs look like CIA agents and if you do not belong here you don't get above the first floor. Very comforting. since it is next to the airport connecting flights are easy. The hotel shuttle is waiting when you arrive and is ready to take you back to the airport at any time.Highly recommended, we will be staying here on our next trip.

There's probably nothing more to add in terms of this hotel that hasn't already been said - great room, fantastic bathroom, excellent service.
There are much cheaper airport hotels nearby, but I had a long haul flight the next day and I wanted the convenience of being right at the airport.
The best thing about the hotel was that I could walk over to the airport with my backpack three and a half hours before departure and beat the queue and score an exit row seat, then wander back for another couple of hours before flying out.
Walking to the terminal from the hotel isn't hard, though might be tough with heavy baggage. You need to walk through the carpark, and you can do this either at the basement level, or on the car park walkway on level floor and then take the lift to the basement. Walk through the basement of the carpark until you reach the other side, then cross the road (it's not busy) and enter the hotel through the back door behind reception.
The shuttle goes every ten minutes and it's fine, but it's good to know how to walk across if you wanted to head over and pick up a couple of cheap snacks. It's only a quick walk, and if you only had a backpack I think walking would be quicker than waiting for the shuttle.
