Located in a residential area, seems like lots of airline crews use this hotel. If you are going for tourism might want to stay closer to the river

This Hotel is a clean, modern and quiet property located on a hill overlooking the City of Mainz. Most people appeared to be arriving by car or taxi but we just walked up from the Mainz main station within 10 minutes with our 28 inch roller bags. When you exit the station just keep right and stay on the same side until almost to the Hotel then just cross over and you are at the entrance. We received a friendly and efficient reception in English and were delighted to have such a big room for our first night in Germany. They have a free Internet station in the lobby and ethernet for rent in the rooms. It took us 15 minutes to walk to the old city and we found a Weinstube called the Weinhaus Zum Spiegal where the owner helped us with the German menu. You can't beat Mainz for a pleasant stopover located about 30 minutes from the Frankfurt Airport. Be careful which Mainz you take the train to as there are 3 different stations and if you get the wrong one you will have to get a taxi. This is the voice of experience speaking here. We didn't have time to try the Spa and restaurant but the entire property was very pleasant. Next stopover will be Rothenburg....

Comfortable stay at the Novotel
Guest name: NDP, Horsham,England
The Novotel is located in a residential area overlooking the city. It is a very ordinary building which is built on top of old city battlements. The restaurant and sauna have real character with thick stone walls! The rest of the hotel has little or no character. It is a conference and business hotel which seems to have lots of airline crews staying there. I had a superior room which was big. Breakfast was 17 euros extra. Just walk to the little bakery 2 minutes away or down into the town where the department store 'Karstadt' serves breakfast at a very reasonable price!
Great hotel. Good location. Nice view

We stayed at this hotel the 2nd weekend in August.
My husband and I and our two girls aged 5 and 9.
We were given a beauitiful family room on the 4th floor. It was a corner room and huge. We paid £64 for the room a night.
The hotel was clean and the staff really efficient and polite.
The health club icluding pool and spa were wonderful. We had a great view of Mainz.
The hotel was within 5 to 10 minutes walk from the Town Centre which was a big plus. There were numerous good quality shops, resturants and fast food places within the town.
We would definately stay in this hotel if we were ever in the area again.
