Good location, clean and nice room but the room that I was booked in was the smallest room I have stayed in especially meant for single traveller. And also the TV programme , all in German ... except CNN .guess is the same as anywhere in a German hotel.

Have just returned from a 2 night stay in this hotel. We checked in when the weather was 32 degrees...........the rooms have no air conditioning and it was like staying in a sauna, almost impossible to breathe at night.
The leisure facilities were unuseable really...........no clean towels available and no one to tidy up the area. It was over run by screaming children who were unsupervised. I would only recommend to families.
On a positive note the breakfast was excellent with a good variety and the hotel staff were extremly pleasant, but i will not return.

We stayed at the Novotel in Freiburg for a weekend in December 2007. As usual, our choice of hotel was restricted to where we could get a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, so as is often the case, we chose the Novotel, which was very good value as we booked an early booking offer on the internet.
We found this Novotel to be a better standard compared to other Novotels we have stayed in before. The room was large and well furnished and the breakfast buffet was also more extensive, with the bonus of being available until lunch time on the Sunday for a leisurely start to the day.
Location wise, the hotel is a few minutes walk from the town centre and directly opposite the railway station.
We flew to Basel and took the airport bus direct to Freiburg, which stops opposite the hotel. We had more time when we returned and took the train the Basel, spent some time there, then took the bus to the airport. It is possible to get a through ticket from Freiburg to Basel airport including the bus connection (note that there are two stations in Basel on the line from Freiburg and the airport bus leaves from Basel SBB). When travelling with children, there are family tickets on both the direct airport bus and the train/bus which is cheaper than buying separate tickets.
Overall, a good hotel (excellent value with the early booking offer), Freiburg is pleasant town to visit and the hotel’s location opposite the railway station makes it a convenient for connections to other places.

We stayed here for 2 nights in mid October, after searching for hotels in Freiburg. Wanted to stay at the Colombi but it was very expensive. Plus we wanted a hotel with modern amenities (elevators, heating, modern bathrooms).
Location is great, right in front of the station - so you can wheel your bags there. Service was good, room very clean, modern - what you would expect from a chain. Freiburg is beautiful, small town but the streets are all cobbled which adds a romantic feel to it.
There is no view from the hotel, and the walk to the main town is hardly 5 minutes. I would recommend this place easily in you want to spend a few days there. We never ate there, so I cannot comment on the food. Staff was helpful.
