As our flight to Barcelona was very late we decided to stay in Novotel Barcelona Cornella for 1 night, coze of closer to airport. We liked this hotel. The staff was kindly, room was cleaned and looked great., it placed 10 mints from Almeda station from which you can go to Playa Catalonia. Only the breakfast was very expensive, so we eated in Barcelona center.

We stayed here one night before catching a flight back to Canada. Since our flight was very early, we wanted some place close to the airport (we had spent 2 weeks prior in Barcelona in an apartment) so the fact that this hotel is fairly isolated didn't bother us. The hotel goes out of it's way to cater to families which was a plus. They gave my daughter a stuffed toy at check-in, which really made her happy. The restaurant is very pricey however the children's menu (12 Euro) gives you A LOT of food (pasta, chicken, potatoes, dessert and a drink). My husband and I wound up eating a lot of it as there way no way a 6-year old could finish it. The room and furnishings are very nice if a little sterile. Overall, it was fine for an overnight and good access to the airport but we would definitely stay in the city for a longer visit to Barcelona.

Quite conveniently placed if coming into the city by car from the south or from the airport.. Pretty easy to get to.. Note that the hotel is not in the centre of the city.
Facilities are pretty much what you would expect.. new-style "novation" rooms have decent facilities, with tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, safe.. but mine was a little hot.. .. maybe a quirky day..
Still comfy bed and a work area that you can work in.
Usual hotel rip-offs for car parking (16 euros per day) and the usual extras that you seem to be charged for these days.. (it is really shocking that these hotels still charge for wi-fi.. Many hotels now offer it for free).. so your room rate will inflate, somewhat, if you use the facilities..
Eating in the restaurant was pretty pricey.. Limited menu (standard from Spanish novotels, it seems).. But service was OK
The area around is not obvious for bars and other eating places, so unless you are mobile, bank on eating in..
Underground car park seems safe but pricey at 16 euros per night..
However, I thought the value was more than OK at 90 odd euro per night basic..

Love the room inside. Very new and clean. the furnatures and the bathroom are the highlights of the hotel.
First impression of the lobby was not very positive. There was a kids playroom just next the reception desk. Couple of kids were running around screaming (well, they were having fun) was very annoying. Checkin was bit of slow.
However, my room had made it up for all sub-par experience in the lobby. There was a warm greeting message already displayed on the TV seconds when you walked in. Bathroom has a seperate shower and bath tub, very nice.
However, you have to pay for the internet and the location of hotel is not the best.

After struggling to find a Hotel in Barcelona which would sleep 2 adults & 2 kids in the same room, at the right price, this was the best soloution.
Location
15 minutues from the airport this fairly standard Novetel was smart, comfortable and fitted us all in.
It is a 10 minutes walk to Almeda tube station which is 15 minutes into Espana or 1 change to Catlunya.
Tubes are easy and clean to do, buy a 10 ticket pass for ?7.50 and away you go!
Room was fine with all 4 of us in, and breakfast was your standard buffet type with Kids eat free, which makes up for the ?15 charge per adult.
They had a fairly small outside pool (overlooked by the motorway), and the hotel is mainly used by business people in the week as it is close to a conference centre and motorway links. But at the weekend they have great rates to keep them busy and we found it a good base for our 3 days in Barcelona.
Be warned the recepton staff were useless on info on how to get from the centre of Barcelona back to the airport, as you can leave your bags at Barcelona Saints (which has left luggage area) and catch a direct train the airport.
