The Novotel is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be in the heart of Wellington City and dont need a car. With access to the Terrace and walking distance to Parliament and the Waterfront its great value . Paid $145 inc GST for a reasonably good sized room with views of the sea and city . Breakfast was a buffet style with no major frills but since i was on business it served its purpose well . The bar area is small and intimate and not the sort of place to hang out in but it was ok for what i wanted .

The Novotel is not the place to stay if you're looking for a bit of a luxury weekend away. Clean and tidy & good location, but if you're looking for a special night out, this is not the place to go. Also - do not bother paying extra money for a "superior" room - the only view we got was of the building over the road & the facilities in the room? again, average at best.

Up Hill walk from railway/bus station 20 minutes not recommended get a taxi. Adjacent hotel had lift down to main shopping street which was a bonus. Room clean and comfortable. Hotel reception arranged early morning taxi to ferry terminal.

The room is tidy with plenty of sunshine. The bed is on the soft side which doesn't offer much support. Service is very efficient and staff very friendly. The hotel has a lift which takes you directly to Lambton Quay, however this lift does NOT operate after 4pm on Sat & Sun which makes access to CBD inconvenient. You can use the Grand Chancellor lift instead, but this one gets turned off at 1am as well, so beware if you want to party until early in the morning. The most disappointing issue is the shower tempreture, which is tempremental to a point that the water can be burning hot this second, turn makes you shiverring the next. Forget about this hotel if you want to have a relaxed shower. Overall, service & room cleaness get the thumbs up, while location (during weekend & after 1am) and shower experience are mediocre at the best. The TV needs a refresh, and the "Hotel information" channel only plays the Novotel ad over and over again.

A large very modern hotel on a convenient city centre location. We had a good sized room with a view of the harbour ( between the various skyscrapers). As the hotel is built into the hillside you can take the lift down from the restaurant to reach the town centre below ( unless you know this you will find yourself exiting from the main entrance higher on the hill and walking some distance to get there!) The only slight inconvenience is that the parking is valet parking which means that the hotel parks and extracts your car for you. We would happily stay there again.
