Had a voucher, and we stayed in the new units on the outskirts of the resort for 2 nights. The new units themselves were very functional (including m'wave, fridge, cooker and dishwasher) but not welcoming. The room very clean. Then we went to explore the resort itself. I know it was winter but hey!! the place looked soooo run down!!. What would have once been a lovely Italian touch of fountains now just looks shabby and the gardens decayed. Unless you like golf and I mean you would have to be a fanatic, there is nothing to do in the area except go to the vineyards winetasting - which is seen one seen them all - who can afford to drink and drive?????
The main recreational activity was to watch the planes approach and take off!! Is that entertainment???!!!
The main resort (we didn't see inside the rooms) had rooms down dark dingy passageways - how scary would that be at night trying to find your way back to your room with little lighting and lots of alcoves for weeirdos to hide in.
Tried Muscats Restaurant - very forgettable - $33 for the "buffet" - small steak pieces inedible - tough as old boots - chicken was drumsticks with no meat left (never really been into chicken bones myself - wouldn't even give them to my dog!!) - very poor standard!!! Fortunately the next night we had bought some microwave meals and had them in the room rather than go to the restaurant again - just as well as it was very heavy rain and no way to get to the main function centre undercover - we would have been totally soaked by the time we got to the restaurant.
Location - miles from anywhere and one has to drive through some very dodgy suburbs to get there - one area on the way looked liked Baghdad on a bad day!!!!!
Staff - found them to be somewhat draconian - they are in charge you are only the paying "guest" and will follow the rules to the tee!! (sorry about the pun). Reading the "welcoming pack" in the room I had a feeling I had just arrived at "Colditz" - "We have ways of making you obey the rules!!" Not that we had any intention of being difficult guests but you were surely pre-warned - they had covered every bit of bad behaviour that we hadnt even thought of yet!!!!!!!
Get out of here!!!!
DON'T GO THERE - THE PLACE IS A COMPLETE EMBARRASSMENT TO PERTH WA.

What a disappointment!
This hotel is highly over rated and definitely not worth staying at.
We checked in early afternoon and were promptly informed that the restaurant was fully booked for dinner so we would have to have room service for dinner.
The rooms are dated and very poorly lit. There is no main bedroom light in the room. The cold water tap on the bath did not work and looks as if it had been that way for quite a while. There was also mould on the bathroom tiles.
The television set in the room had blurry reception.
The major disappointment was the room service meals we were forced to order due to the restaurant being full.
Our meals definitely did not match the descriptions in the very limited room service menu and were ordinary to say the least. The rice was a congealed (microwaved?) mess. The fish as dry as a boot. Overall very tasteless and bland. The cost of our room service dinner came to $100 and we would have been better off eating at the local service station.

I stayed here for work. It was somewhere to sleep I guess but I wouldn't pay that amount of money if I was paying myself with alternatives around. There was no main room light and I had to use reading lights to see.
Food in the cafe was overpriced and of generally average quality - a pre-made pizza cost me $18. I didn't eat in the other restaurant.
Service was passable but the workers semed uninterested and basically didn't want to be there - that's ok but they should be a little more "service" orientated.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here only for one night, it just happened my girlfriend had sometype of discount voucher so we only paid $50 or their aboust for the room. Which is good becasue I would not like to pay full price for this place...
When we arrived the front desk was helpful enough and we were given out keys and some dodgy map that looked like it had been hand drawn. After about 15 minutes of driving around and stumbling around we finally found our room. It was located down what I can only say as a dark ally, you know the type, flashing light bulbs, moisture on the walls. So not a very good first impression.
Once we were settled in we decided to got for a dip in the pool, only to find the pool was filled with kids, we were the only 20 something year olds there so we felt very out of place. This of course isn't the resorts fault, but trying to get the message across that this place is not ideal for a romantic getaway with the girlfriend/boyfriend or wife/husband. The pool side bar was also closed which was disappointing. The quality of the pool was also poor, the lino plastic lining in the pool was starting to peel in some spots.
The dinner buffet is ok, nice choice of foods, all of it seemed tasty. But for some reason I can't put my finger on, I just didn't feel comfortable there.
Buffet breakfast was same as dinner, tasty (except for one guy who was having a nice yell at one of the staff because the poached egs had been over cooked!!!), just not a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy your meal.
The quality of our room, which was some type of spa suite was nice, clean, plenty of drinks and nibbles and quiet air con. The spa was great and the king size bed was comfortable.
So overall not a place i would like to go to again, but hey, we had a voucher, and my girlfriend paid for the night, so I enjoyed it for what it was. Even with all the stuff that was wrong it still didn't ruin our over night stay.

I was in Perth to attend a wedding and decided to give the smaller hotels/B&Bs a miss as The Vines looked more exclusive. We were given an upgrade from a 2 to 3-bedroom apartment (though there was no mention of this during check-in) which we discovered and rang back to check that this was correct.
The set up is bare but somewhat functional. 'Somewhat' because for an apartment, many necessities were missing, e.g. a simple hook behind the bedroom door would have been helpful. Or more than 2 hangers in the closet. The bedside table was sticky and under it were three sweet wrappers. It felt frustrating. We didn't get any Housekeeping service for the three days - perhaps they needed to be called but we weren't sure as this was not mentioned at check-in.
The kitchen was dingy and there were stained surfaces. i'm not sure how often surfaces e.g. bathroom vanity tops or floors were actually washed or scrubbed with soap but they were slightly sticky too.
All in all, quite comfortable, but only if you close one eye.
