I would recommend this hotel particularly for families with kids. Those seeking an action-packed lodging area should look elsewhere.
The Paris Novotel Vaugirard occupies a very good locale -- a block away from the metro stop, across the street from a police station, and nestled amidst several shops (including a grocery/bakery about 2 blocks away) and restaurants. There is little in the way of nightlife, large crowds, or commercial bustle in this relatively quiet neighborhood. Because the area is slightly off the typical tourist path, few people at the shops or even the police station spoke English.
The hotel room was clean and quiet with contemporary decor, but seemed a bit cramped for four people perhaps because of an unconventional design. The staff members spoke good English and were cordial. The functional, almost sparse, hotel lobby does not invite people to lounge around. A small kids' play section is set up next to the lobby.

Myself, my wife and our 3 year old, took a 5 day/4 night break in Paris to relax.
We found this hotel to be very reasonably priced at ?615 for 4 nights (Sat-Wed). Although we had to check out by 12:00pm, they held our luggage in a secure room all day for us.
We only had breakfast on one of the days. They finish serving at 9:30am; and we preferred to have a lie in. The breakfast itself was ?14 each (my daughter was free). It was a full continental buffet (breads; pastries; cheeses; cold meats; jams and spreads;cereals; juices; coffee;bacon; sausage; scrambled egg...). We thought it was good value, especially if you were very hungry. Great start to the day.
We also had one evening meal. I had a burger (around ?14). Served with some salad and potato cakes instead of burger bun. The burger itself was delicious, and obviously made from scratch in the kitchen. My wife had a steak (?25?). The prices were a bit more expensive than we are used to; but the food was excellent.
Drinks are also very expensive; however, this was true of every place went to eat.
The room itself was ample. Fine if you will be out all day. Not suitable if you wanted to sit in for long periods of time (but ho wants to do that while in Paris). The sofa folded down into two separate beds. Handy if you only need a single bed as it takes up less room. The mini bar isn't locked, so watch out if you have small children (they could inadvertently add to your bill as they explore!) There is NO air conditioning! It's supposed to be centrally controlled; and you can only increase the temperature in the room. This wasn't a problem for us; but could be quite uncomfortable in the middle of summer.
The hotel itself is within about 20 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. There is a Metro station, down to the left, 3 minutes away (you can see it from the hotel). There is also an internet cafe across the street in the direction of the Metro. Also, on the same side as the hotel, to the left, about 5 minute walk there is a grocery shop (called Shopi). It has everything you will need. A nice bakery; wines; etc. You can buy a a fresh baguette with salad, cold meat, cheese etc. for less than ?3. Great for a picnic. We did this quite often as there is a nice little park/square with a small playground right beside the Metro Station. My daughter had to stop here daily.
We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We stayed here for 2 nights... good experience with the hotel in general - very comfy room, GREAT bathtub and beds.... there was some type of construction going on in the lobby, but we never heard noise from it, so other than asthetics, that did not take away from our stay.
Staff was plenty helpful and the location was decent. No sweeping views of the Parisian skyline, but it IS a short cab or train ride to everything.
Internet access is available for purchase. Not cheap, but nothing is in Paris :)
Overall, when coming back to Paris, I would maybe try to stay in a more 'in the middle of things' location, but for the price, you can't beat it.

Be careful when booking via hotel website. We booked room on "non-refundable special rate". So we pay over for two days then we exactly needed (website isnt comfortable to do reservation). Hotel personell decline our complaints about return any money.
Breakfast was not so good (same omelette day after day)
Paris is Great nevertheless...........
