We booked this hotel needing something for just one night, arrived by train late afternoon and were flying out very early the next morning. Having read the reviews I was expecting a rather poorly maintained hotel, but it was all we could find that had availability and was close to both the train station and the airport.
To my surprise the hotel was very nice, clean, comfortable, and the nicest/largest room we'd had in Italy. It was perfect for our needs. I would not recommend it for a stay in Genova, because the surrounding area is not very nice (industrial), but it is very close to the port also for anyone needing a one night hotel before or after a cruise.
We booked direct through their website and were able to get a "Early Breaks" rate of only 79 euro, which included breakfast, though we checked out at 4am for an early flight so we did not take advantage of the breakfast included.
We had hoped to walk from the train station to the hotel (tired of being ripped off by cab drivers in Italy), but we did not have a good map and it was a very heavy traffic area so we opted for a cab (who charged us 17 euro for the less than one mile ride). It was 22 euro for a cab from the hotel to the airport, which was a 10 min drive.

Took a last minute offer and paid 98 Euros to stay here. normally for a hotel in the Novotel chain you expect that to be good value but there are some issues
The garage is added at 14.5Euro to the price (and you need it if you have a car)
The breakfast is 15 Euro - for a buffet style breakfast
The hotel is in an industrial zone and there are no other restaurants in the neighbourhood so you need to use their restaurant if you are short in time. The food in the restaurant is fine but expensive
There is no WiFi in the rooms and there is only a Vodaphone Hotspot in the lobby. The hotel reception does not sell Vodaphone passes and it was difficult to get into the WiFi as a result
And if you are a business traveller you really need a navigation system to find this place. It is difficult
The rooms are OK , but the value for the money even at 98 Euro is questionnable

My complaint to the company: Don't stay here and def don't pay in advance!!
Unfortunately, I have a complaint to make about one of your hotels. I was really surprised about this as I am normally very happy with Novotel hotels.
We arrived to the hotel to find some incredibly rude staff rushing people into their rooms. We booked our accommodation a month prior to arrival and were informed that they did not have the available room we booked. For the hotel’s mistake, we received standard rooms rather then the booked superior rooms. At check-out, the hotel staff then tried to charge us the rate for the more expensive room. When we complained of this, the hotel staff then spent about 30 minutes discussing the situation with management to get approval to charge us the correct rate for the downgraded room. In the end, the hotel agreed to give us back ?10 Euros a day. The difference in room bookings was ?20 per day. I was extremely annoyed that after putting us in the wrong rooms, they didn’t take the actually difference in price between rooms off the booking.
I’d also like to point out some false advertising by the hotel. The hotel booklet stated that there was 24 hour room service and in fact their wasn’t. The hotel booklet and your website mentioned that the following would be available in standard room…
1. Safe deposit box in room
2. Radio in room and bathroom
Your website also mentions that this hotel has a pool. None of these advertised items were actually available at the hotel. All of this was a massive annoyance.
The hotel staff were not very well informed about the hotel or the city. When I phoned to ask why room service wasn’t running, they did not know. When I phoned to ask for an iron, they did not have one (I have never heard of a hotel not having an iron available). When I asked if they knew how much it would cost to get a tax to the airport, they did not know. As an aside, the hotel breakfasts were not very nice either. This definitely kept us from staying at the hotel restaurant for dinner.
Generally, I am also writing to let you know that some serious assistance needs to be made with this hotel as it is far below a 4 star hotel, as your website mentioned.
