This hotel is a little dated in the rooms but they are o.k. Good cleaning there but the bathrooms were not well cleaned. We faithfully used the in room safe only to find it not bolted down when we were clearing it on departure. Not a safe by any means. Staff were lovely but just don't ever use their phones in the room as an 8 min. collect call to the U.S.A. cost us N.Z. $33.00.

The location: This hotel is situated very near Siam BTS. By crossing over the BTS station, you will reach Siam Paragon or Siam Center. From Siam Center, there is a direct sky bridge connecting Siam Discovery all the way to the famous MBK shopping arcade. Shopaholics will enjoy such convenience. The room: I booked a Junior Suite. I love the room, spacious, clean and well lighted. Comparing this room to the rooms in newer hotels like Courtyard Marriott or Pullman King Power, it may lose out "technologically" and in newness but it is still a comfortable room to stay for indulgence. To the hotel: The hotel entrance is situated on a very narrow road and hence traffic jam is a pain. From the Siam Square carpark entrance to the hotel entrance, it can take up to 15 mins for a good 200m ride! For subsequent travel where the destination is reachable by BTS (train) or walking, I no longer use taxi service. Arrived at the hotel: The hotel entrance experience has not been consistent. At times you have to open the main door on your own, will be greeted by a tired door man or an energetic staff with a smile on your face. Reception: The receptionist experience has not been consistent. During the check-in process, I thought I have owe the receptionist a lot of money as he does not smile. His "welcome to Novotel Siam Square and I hope you enjoy your stay" is as cold as antarctica! Subsequent encounters with other receptionists are well so perhaps it is just 1 staff that spoils the image. Breakfast: Breakfast is included in my package, it will otherwise cost 500++baht. The spread is reasonable with the usual egg, ham, sausage, fruit, juice, porridge, fried rice, fried noddle, pastry etc. 1 thing I like very much is the freshly made pan cake. It not only smells good but tastes good too.

Just came from Thailand after spending 3 weeks in Bangkok on business. I stayed at the Novotel in Siam Square as it is a very central location close to the business district, Siam BTS station, shopping and entertainment venues and most major highway routes. The location is good but this hotel has some serious issues in the food hygiene department. The breakfast and lunch buffets are quite comprehensive with something to suit all tastes but I was very put off by having to compete with the 'creepy crawly' cockroaches at the buffet so after that experience I ordered 'A la Carte from the Chinese restuarant which has a good dim sum menu. I showed two different staff members the cockroaches on the sushi and on the cold meats at the buffets but they didn't seem to bothered and shrugged it off. The Chinese restuarant is a much more professional outfit although I was disappointed to see more cockroaches there too. This hotel needs an exterminator bad. If you see 6 or 7 roaches crawling around, you know there are so many more 'behind the scenes'. The hotel has a nightclub. As a woman I felt uncomfortable with the open 'flesh trade'. A lot of single men and working girls. The pool is small in this hotel, but the spa is good. The girls at the spa were very helpful and welcoming. Would I go back? I would if they dealt with the bug infestation and cleaned up the place. Location is really good. By all means stay there but skip the food and club is really "men only".

Great Location, near all shopping centres, easy and safe to get around. Bathroom in the hotel was a little mouldy in the grout but not really that bad, as it blended in with the grey marble. Rooms were of a reasonable size, with good furniture. For a 1 or 2 night stay, definately fine, however if it was me and I was staying longer I would Chooses the Pathumwan Princess.(PP) We also stayed there at the begining of our 3 weeks in Thailand. We only stayed at the Siam novotel for 1 night and in reference to the other comments about cockroaches, lucky for us we didnt see any on the wonderful breakfast buffet. (and we stayed around the same time as the other 2 who mentioned this in their writeups) So maybe a short stay is the way to go. It is good value for money but PP is a better larger hotel. But as iI said a couple of nights, would be OK and yes I will return for a couple of nights, any longer I would go to PP but that hotel is more expensive. Both hotels are in 5 mins walk of one another so location is good for both. Pool area is fine for an inner city hotel. Lots of lounge chairs by the pool to lounge in if you feel like it.

This is such a wonderful hotel with such lovely staff it is such a shame that this hotel seems to have a cockroach problem. On 2 occasions I saw cockroaches walking around the food area in the buffet. I remember I stayed here 2 years ago too and saw one but thought it was a one off thing, but this time it confirmed they have a problem. These are not the big ones but those small german ones and they say if you see one that means there are hundreds of them. Because of this we will have to stay elsewhere which is a real letdown because it is quite a good hotel with wonderful staff but this really needs to be looked at by management ASAP as I have seen another reviewer found them in their room. Novotel please sort it out.
