I have been there 5 times, it is a very nice and clean hotel in a terrific position. Avoid to have breakfast there is it not very good, I would suggest you to go to the little bakery shop on the same street.

I chose the hotel based on trip advisor and expedia reviews. You never really know what to expect until you get there. Since I have had the pleasure of staying in 5 star hotels around the globe, I have some pretty high expectations for hotels. Surprisingly, this hotel was quite quaint and a perfect location to walk to the coffee shops, get to the square, nice shopping area and best of all the best restaurants the city had to offer all within walking distance. The rooms are quite small (my hotel in Tokyo was much bigger) but since we hardly stayed in the room it was fine (albeit our huge luggage took up much of the space). Our view of the canal and the city was fantastic with a great sunset view. We never ate at the hotel so we cannot comment but this hotel was well worth the price. We will definitely stay here again.

We arrived very late at the hotel, part of a Trafalgar Tour so didn’t have time to take photos, sorry. The room was basic and we had twin beds (mother and daughter traveling together) which were really comfortable. The room had a safe, mini bar and flat screen tv but no airconditioning or alarm clock. The bathroom was reasonably sized with the shower over a very high bath. There were loads of restaurants around the hotel with a lovely caf? behind the hotel named Berts and many cafes on the same street as the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful with lots of cheeses and meats available. Sorry this review is short but we did only have a one night stay.

Nice 3 Star Hotel. Rooms were good size and everything was clean and well kept. Breakfast was good with a good selection of options. The location was excellent - very central. Broadband access in the room was extortionately priced at ?22 for a day. When are hotels going to realise that this should be free - it doesn't cost a huge amount for them to put in place a wireless router that covers the whole building so the marginal cost of providing access for guests is minimal.
I still find it very hard to get used to the fact that people smoke in the bar and in the halls. The Netherlands needs to put in place the same bans on smoking in the workplace that exist throughout many European countries. The absence of the smoking ban would stop me returning there on a personal trip (business this time).

I stayed at the NH City Centre for one night as part of a work trip - I'd stayed in the NH Krasnapolsky on Dam Square but was much more impressed by this one. The hotel was easy to find - just take trams 1, 2 or 5 to the Spui from Centraal Station and it's a five mins walk max. Check-in was fine and I was upgraded for free to a 'superior room' which gave me much more than expected - a massive room and a balcony with lovely views over the Singel.
The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was well appointed, and the whole thing had the whole NH layer of professionalism which is always welcome.
Thoroughly recommended.
