An old novotel in need of a refurb..

I have stayed in this hotel a few times now.. To those who know the Novotel brand, you will know that there are some nice new ones, some fair to middling ones, and some ratty old ones.. I'm afraid this hotel comes into the latter category, with the biggest criticism being the lack of an upgrade in the rooms.. They are the old style, and boy do they show it.. I cannot say that I encountered the fleas that the other reviewer did, but the rooms can be old and musty (ground floor are particularly bad, I feel).. The bar and restaurant are typical Novotel.. Watch out for limited weekend, bar service only menus.. The staff are, mostly, OK, with the odd exception.. But I have mostly had good services..

L'accueil sympatique, rien à dire, sauf que notre chambre n'était pas prête à l'heure prévu. En effet, beaucoup de retard dans les libérations de chambre ne permettent pas aux personnels (en trop petit nombres) de préparer les chambres à temps.
Bilan, nous récupérons notre chambre vers 16h00.
La chambre non fumeur ne sent pas le tabac, mais ne sent pas
la fraicheur non plus.
Le rez de chaussée de ce Novotel est réservé aux chambres non fumeur. Ces chambres ne sont pas de première jeunesse et mériteraient un grand coup de nettoyage et une très sérieuse remise à niveau, l'écran plat LCD ne pardonne pas tout.
Les petits déjeuners sont correctes, les couverts et autres assiettes ne sont pas toujours "clean".
Cet hôtel manque de fraicheur.
La prestation est toutefois dans la moyenne pour le prix, 99,00€

WARNING - DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!
My boyfriend and I happened upon this hotel on the way to Nice.
We were fooled by the clean, modern lobby. The room, however, was a different story. Dirty, thread bare carpet. A damp, uncomfortable bed. A toilet that looked like it belonged in a prison cell..internet service that did not work...I could go on.
All of those things are tolerable to the weary traveller... but I'm burying the lead. The room had FLEAS! I felt something on my face in the middle of the night but dismissed it ( I later found out my beau felt the same thing). I couldn't ignore them in the light of day, though. There they were - swarms of the little pests crawling all over the couch (where my suitcase was!) We were horrified!
After showing ten or so writhing, semi-paralyzed critters on a white paper to the front desk clerk , she said there was "nothing she could do" about it - all the while looking at a collection of the critters we put on a plate as evidence. Finally, thanks to the tenacity of my boyfriend, she reluctantly took 30 euros off our bill.
Avoid this place, sleep in your car...you'll be better off the next morning.
