This hotel was great for the price! It was a very quick checkin and they were very accomadating for my group. They even gave us our own conference room for the continental breakfasts. It was in a cute town and in close proximity to the beaches. It was very clean and comfortable. This is the place to stay affordably in Normandy.

This was a return visit for us after very nice stay previously. The hotel is in a good position with relatively easy access off the main ring road. Main tram stop just down the road for easy way into Caen itself which was good fun and value through buying multi trip tickets. Sunday morning market was well worth the trip and all in all a nice city for a wander and shop. Reception was efficient and reaffirmed my request for a non smoking room. The room itself was fine with good standard beds but either it had been recently re classified or someone had been smoking since there was a clear unpleasant smell. Although we didn’t eat in the restaurant in the evening, the menu looked to be of a good standard if a bit expensive. Breakfast on the other hand was a complete rip off. 13 Euros for tea or coffee and tired looking meat and cheese. Fruit juice was constantly running out and the hot selection of scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon never kept up with demand and was replenished very slowly. The staff really didn’t seem to care (including a manager) so my advice is unless you can get a very good rate including breakfast, be very cautious before spending 13 euros on a very poor product. We returned because we had had previously enjoyed this hotel. We won’t be making the same mistake again.

I turned up here at around 6 pm with my 12 year old son without a booking and having just followed the road signs. They had a comfortable, spacious and clean room for E105. It was near a huge supermarket, so we could buy a 'picnic' dinner, and we used the mini-bar for some milk in the morning for breakfast. It's also very close to the War Museum, which we visited the next morning. Reception staff were very friendly, so all in all the place ticked all the boxes!

Cet hotel de l'enseigne Novotel offre un très bon point de départ pour les visites autour de Caen (plages du débarquement, Deauville, route du cidre,...). Il a surement été refait dernièrement, en tout les cas l'entrée, car il un style très "design". Les chambres sont bien, avec seulement un inconvénient, les toilettes sont petites et les salles de bain aussi. Nous avions une vue sur le jardin et la piscine donc cela allait, mais il faut savoir que l'hotel se trouve à 2 pas de l'autoroute et donc certaines chambres ont des vues moins sympathiques. Le petit déjeuner fet est complet (viennoiseries, fromage, yahourts, oeuf, saucisses, fruits), mais pour le prix (12,50/pars), il vaut mieux qu'il soit inclus dans la chambre sinon ca monte vite. Accueil satisfaisant.

We arrived on Friday 26th October and was really surpised how modern and clean the reception area was. There was a Playstation and small childrens play area which kept the kids occupied while we booked in and while we had a few drinks in the small bar. The room was ample, clean and warm. The shower excellent. The only down side was the restaurant, no grill for the whole weekend, but we found a brilliant little street in Caen opposite the castle that had numberous reataurants all serving lovely food. All in all a great weekend and I can't wait to visit again and see all the sites we missed this time around. We will stay at the Novotel again. Great value!! Thanks Antony & Carole
