If you are on a tour group, or just needing a short stopover then this Hotel should suffice. The price we paid was more than this place is worth, unfortunately. The room was clean, and reasonably nice. Although the air conditioning barely cooled the room down on a Summer night. The bathroom was clean. The fridge didnt work too well, and ice was not available through reception (despite my polite request). The breakfast here though was a disgrace. I had to ask for coffee, and the Hot breakfast (eggs etc) were not replenished, so we had to go without. The croissants were stale, nothing good to be said of this breakfast. The staff seemed clueless. Unfriendly on the whole. And I speak French too, so it wasnt a case of me being a rude tourist. The Holiday Inn at the other end of this building looked like a nicer option. The building is beside the Tours train station too, so unless you like a view of the tracks, request a room on the road-side of the building. My group booked 4 rooms here. Some had separate toilet/bathroom, (ours had toilet in the bathroom) and one had a small balcony. So not all the rooms are the same, despite paying the same price. If you have preferences, advise the hotel. I wouldnt stay here again.

Again, I was traveling throughout France with ACIS Educational Tours and they always put us in great hotels. The staff at the Mercure were very friendly and quickly got a group of 40 students checked in.
The elevator was really small - but, if you go to the back of the bar there is a door on the right - that is the staircase and most of us just decided to take the stairs.
Breakfast in the morning was very good and very ample. Large selection of breads and pastries and there was also meats and cheeses.
The only weird thing -which is not a bad thing at all - was the room keys were very old, they were the white plastic cards with the dots so they were kind of large.
The rooms were very nice. I was on the 2nd floor, so my room had a little balcony. I didn't see any other floors with balconies and according to some friends we were traveling with on Floor 5, they did not have balconies.
Great Value and Location

This Mercure reflects the standard of this product in the Accor hotel chain. The rooms were modern and spacious with decent bathroom amenties. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. I called the hotel to arrive a day early and they were extremely gracious in accomodating us. It is very convenient to the train station, but not as close as the Holiday Inn, which is directly adjacent to the station. Due to the double windows, the train noise was not a problem. I would definitely stay here again, but would continue to dine at the Holiday Inn. The Holiday Inn has a great and inexpensive fixed price dinner.

Quite good hotel . If your arriving in Tours by train , turn right out of the main entance , then right again . The Mercure is about 300 metres along the road on the right hand side . Just opposite is the Ibis Hotel which you will probably see first .
Rooms are clean and comfortable and staff friendly . They do not have a restuarant but offer breakfast in a small dining room . Con't comment on breakfast as my wife and I ate out . For dinner we can recommend the Brussel bar/cafe which is ( looking from the main entrance ) on the far left hand corner of the square in front of the railway station . Try the duck . It's absolutely delicious .
