In which lottery did Kikuoka win the fourth star?
Firstly: reception managed to give us key to another room so my children walked in (at midnight) waking up a sleeping stranger. Same thing happened last year.
Second: only one English speaking TV channel (news) available, so you better like old series badly dubbed into German or French
Third: Use the pool but don't set you foot outside. We were 6 adults sitting in the sun 1-2 meters outside the pool door in the grass. We did not eat, drink, smoke or behave impolitely. We were dressed in shorts and shirts not swimsuits, relaxing and quietly watching our children in the pool when a very nice lady from the hotel politely regretted that unfortunately we had to go inside. Golf club rules do not allow guests to sit outside the poolroom (visit EUR 8 per person!)
Fourth: The restaurant is a complete disaster. We were various families, a total of 20-24 persons, all staying at the hotel, who went to the a la carte restaurant for dinner. We were not allowed to sit on the sunny terrace, even though we did never even asked to be seated together and despite the fact that there were empty tables. Those already seated were asked to move. We were placed on the cold and windy far end terrace, in the shadow. The chilly wind blew the heavy fumes from the barbecue right at us and we were not allowed to move despite allergic children. The food was in many cases uneatable. My teenage son could not even chew his meat. It was cooked so hard you could hardly tell beef from pork. It was the EUR 160 Barbecue Plate. When politely complaining to the barbecue chef I was told that this was the way barbecue was supposed to be. Other guests were told likewise. Only one barbecue plate was not dry and hard. My own chicken was dripping with fat but the meat was dry and tasteless.
We waited 40 minutes to pay and nobody cared if we wanted dessert.
Breakfast was as expected from a provicial hostel.
We have stayed 3 times at the Kikuoka due to family living nearby. It's clean and neat, beds are good, parking is available. The first times luckily we didn't have to eat at the a la carte restaurant. I am pretty sure that this third time was the very last.
