We chose the Mercure after reading the other reviews on this website. After arriving there, we thought we must have the wrong hotel. But after double checking, there is only one Mercure in central Annecy. The room was terrible! I will not go into all of the details, in deference to the management there, who told us they would undergo renovations next year After finding a better hotel in the city ( we checked out over 10, and the Mercure was the worst ), we were told we could not cancel our room, and had to pay the night. After speaking at length with the manager, we were told we would be compensated for our inconvenience. He was true to his word, but the small compensation did not make up for the bad room. The location was excellent, and the staff polite enough, but I would not recommend staying there until the renovations are complete.

Un hôtel classique propre, destiné à la clientèle d’affaires. On est allés passer un long week-end à Annecy pour faire du trekking et aller dans des restaurants, et on a eu exactement ce qu’on voulait! Un décor extraordinaire autour du lac d’Annecy et d’excellents restaurants de cuisine locale ! Vivement recommandé pour les fans de gastronomie et de randonnée.

A standard, clean, business-type hotel. We stayed in Annecy for a long weekend of trekking/eating, and got what we came for! Stunning scenary around lake Annecy and excellent local food! Highly recommended for eating/outdoor enthusiasts.
