My partner and I stayed here for three nights. I found the hotel overall quite pleasant and although there were a number of other people staying it was always quiet and we could always get a table for breakfast. The breakfast buffet was fantastic - lots of choice and plenty of hot options which were always kept full whilst we stayed (it was part of our package so ate their each morning).
Only downsides (and these were only small) was they messed up my room service food and it took quite a while for them to repair the bedside lights (they were not functioning when we arrived). However they were reasonably courteous and seemed to care which is always a positive! We also had to request new towels from housekeeping (they did not replace the old ones otherwise).
The pool is a great bonus - and I found it to be immaculate along with the whole of the pool area. I also loved the spa - there are plenty of times when you are able to get it to yourself which is nice too! They have pool towels available at reception as well (I used my room ones without realising unfortunately!).
They do lack a little bit in parking spaces however, and some can be quite tight. We always got a park when required, but sometiumes it did seem like we got 'the last one' available.
Reception staff were not rude, but did not go out of their way either. The best word to describe them is 'neutral'...neither good nor bad...
Overall however I really enjoyed our stay, we were in a standard room, but it was comfortable, quiet and pleasant. I would definetely consider staying here again. It is about a $10 taxi ride to Parramatta shopping - so not in the centre, but that contributes to it's quiet location!

I stayed at the Mercure on an overnight business trip to glamorous Paramatta. Alright, the glamorous part may be a bit of an exaggeration, but the facilities at the Mercure were certainly more than I had hoped for. The rooms were excellent, well decorated and very comfortable. The restaurant I would say was above average for a hotel mainly accommodating business travellers, and the breakfast was great. I am glad I was there with colleagues, as it isn't in a central location, and Hooters isn't really my thing, but overall, a big thumbs up.
