Spent 2 nights here March 21-23. I had stayed at the Mecure Montemarte in November on business which is a large chain style hotel but this one, just a few blocks from the big Department stores was really a good value. I booked directly through the Mecure web site and got a rate of 104E/night which included breakfast. The hotel facade is being cleaned so it was a bit hard to locate as it is also just next door to another Mecure property.
We were 2 Moms & 2 16 year old girls and upon arrival a very nice young man at reception told us he had one double ready and then tried to convince us that he could offer us 2 singles in leiu of the second double for the same price. Thinking about having 3 showers tempted us and we took a chance. After seeing the rooms, we realized we made out on the deal.
First I must say, the halls, breakfast area etc...are spotless! There is a tiny lift good for 2 people & 2 bags max, unless you have the "mother of all bags" that my girlfriend brought. When we walked into the double we had a good laugh as what others have said is true...there is literally one foot between the bed and walls, with the bed taking up 99.9% of the room. The singles on the other hand were L shaped with lots of floor space and a very roomy feeling. Bathrooms were small but functional and extra towels were quickly delivered upon request.
Breakfast was very nice and plentiful, service wonderful and gracious. The front desk staf fspoke good English and were very helpful.
The location, very close to the cadet metro stop and about a 20 minute walk (stroll) from the Louve made it a fabulous choice. It has taken me a long time to realize that for the time one spends in their room along with the value of the USD, the days of the Westins and Intercontinental are long gone!

We stayed at this hotel overnight for the England South Africa Rugby World Cup match in Paris.
Usually you can't really go wrong with hotels from the Accor group and this was no exception. Bizarrly there are two hotels with the same name next to each other, one is a 3* and the other (ours) was a 2*.
The hotel was basic and small but perfectly adequate. Refurbishment works were being carried out which was a bit loud during the day. The superior room (#143) looked to have been recently refurbished and came complete with a plasma TV and en-suite bathroom. The room was very small however, with the bed taking up most of the space.
Continental breakfast was also fine with a nice array of breads, hams and cereals available. The hotel is well placed in the city, about 10-15 minutes walk from Gard du Nord and with easy access via the metro (Cadet or Le Peletier) to the Trocadero (Eiffel Tower) and Champs-Elyssee.
The staff all spoke good english and were very helpful, for example responding to our emails about arriving late at night.
For 210 EUR a night, it may sound quite expensive, but it is the centre of Paris and during the World Cup. Don't expect anything particularly special, but if you are looking for something practical as a base then this is fine. Compared to 2*s in the UK, this is much better.

Location and staff were great. Very friendly. Quiet location 1 mile North of Louvre near Opera and Galleries LaFayette. Very tiny room for the price but very clean. Comfortable bed occupied entire room. No place to put a suitcase. Balconies from room and bath were nice. Good breakfast offering. Appeared to have been recently renovated (bath appeared new). Painting was underway in the halls. One English channel on the flat panel TV but hey, you're in France.

This is a nice small Mercure chain hotel by a quiet street about one block from the Folies Bergere. The standard rooms are very small, but adequate and cozy for one to two persons that do not stay much in the room. We had a work desk (very small), shower, flat screen TV and water kettle. The a/c was effective and could be controlled individually from the room. You could also open the windows to the street. The breakfast had eggs, cold cuts, breads, croissants, cereal, yoghurt, fruits, juices i.e. all the basic things for a good start of the day. For the price it was good value.
