I stayed at Mercure Brisbane 3 month ago for one night on a business trip... Thought Okay not a real 4 star as anounced but all right...
Then i decided with my little family to come here 3 nights in July.
Location is great that's for sure but Hotel is just Bad:
Bed in room 1111 is bad, bathroom old, restaurant not good (specially the burger Club sandwich so so) service is except one or two guys (most of the time assistant manager) is just how can i say? just wait and see.
Well conclusion is, for the location GREAT but that's it and with the price just go somewhere else even Ibis should be better at least you know why you don't pay much.
Sorry guys but last time in a Mercure...

Stayed here during the easter weekend. The hotel was quiet as we arrived on Good Friday. Location was good, rooms cleanliness was average. Could do with some redecoration. Pool was good, bonus as we were in the city. Pluses were that the location was great and plenty of hot water. Would stay again

Very handy location to Southbank and Queen St Mall

My husband, 2 children (7 and 11 years) and myself stayed at this hotel on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th April 2008. We chose this hotel because of its proximity to Southbank, where we had to attend an event early on Sunday morning. The hotel was very handy to both Southbank (about 10-15 minute walk) and the Queen Street mall (5 -8 minutes). It's also handy to nearby suburbs such as Toowong, Indooroopilly etc.
Overall we had a very good experience here. As usual the service was very good, as per other Mercure hotels we have stayed in. Definitely no complaints there.
Our room was on the 11th flor overlooing the pool, and contained 2 double beds. Very comfortable.
Breakfast was very nice, - cereals, eggs, fruit, sausages, pastries, juices, and more, and we receieved a 50% discount for being accorclub members. The children ate for free, so it only cost us $25 per day for the 4 of us to eat breakfast. Great value.
The only downside to this hotel that we came across was the car park. We checked in on Saturday afternoon and as we drove into the section reserved for hotel guests discovered that it was only a one lane area. Thankfully we didn't meet any on coming cars.
There are only 1 1/2 levels allocated for the guests and when we reached the end of the road, so to speak, discovered that there were no empty spaces. By sheer luck someone was leaving at that moment, although it was very difficult to manoeuvre far enough around to let them out. Eventually it worked out. Had the other car not vacated when it did we would have been forced to reverse back through the car park and reverse into oncoming traffic, which being a busy intersection was not at all appealing.
After that experience we weren't game enough to remove the car from the car park during our stay. On Monday though the car park was virtually empty, so maybe it's more of a problem on weekends.
Aside from the car parking problem, we would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others. We'll probably choose this hotel again next year as the event at Southbank is an annual event and this hotel is very convenient to it.

This is a terrible hote! The room is tired looking. Stains on the carpet, walls and bathroom. The room stank of cheap room freshener.
I checked in at midnight and was hungry for room service. The menu was small and didnt look entising. I skipped room service.
The hotel looked old in every corner. I can also tell from the windows that it was an old office building from the 60s converted into a hotel. The gaps between the tiles in the bathroom was filthy, especially under the toilet seat. It was disgusting.
The room service lady left a bottle of "No Vac Carpet Foam- no vacuuming needed" in my room. Does this mean they dont vacuum the rooms?
With a price tag of A$250- this hotel is a rip off!
