We happened to travel to Vienna on the day that a major European Cup match was being held there, so we had a LOT of trouble finding a hotel. We chose the Mercure Wien Europaplatz even though it was more expensive than we would have liked, because the alternatives were too far from the city center or shared rooms in youth hostels. The hotel room was clean, air-conditioned (although not so you'd notice -- we ended up running a fan as well), and comfortable. They provided nice toiletries, and the bathroom contained speakers that connected to the TV, so you wouldn't miss anything during a bathroom break.
Problems with this hotel: Their parking garage was difficult to find and use. It wasn't clear how to open the door into the garage, so I climbed out of the car and pressed buttons until one worked. Once inside, there were very few parking spaces and they were all tiny. Our rental car was damaged as we tried to squeeze into a space. It's also not clear how the hotel keeps track of which guests are parking there -- we may have been able to avoid the 15 Euro/day fee by not mentioning it to them, since you didn't need your hotel key or any sort of code to access the garage.
The hotel had wireless internet available for a fee, or free use of one computer in the lobby. Their breakfast buffet costs an astounding 14 Euro/person (more than we spent on lunch or dinner most days), so we opted to have breakfast elsewhere.
All in all, it's a nice hotel in a good location (still had to take the U-Bahn to most attractions), but much more expensive than other places we found, and catering more toward business travelers than vacationers.

Visited this hotel for 4 days on a business conference with about 30 other colleagues. Check in very smooth for such a large party-they were all ready and waiting for us.
Each colleague had a twin room and shared with another colleague-we were lucky enough to get a 'suite'. What this basically was was a normal size room with 2 twin beds pushed together and an adjoining room with a double sofa bed and small table and chairs. Adequate wardrobe space. Both rooms had a tv and we shared a bathroom. Shower nice and powerful and bathroom decent size . However, the rooms were just so hot! The a/c just did not work, was provided with a fan but it made little difference. Would not like to stay here July/August. Also, was quite noisy outside the hotel-however Euro 2008 was in full swing so guess this accounted for most of the noise. Have read other reviews complaining about room temp so guess this is a significant problem. I had the sofa bead which was really uncomfortable and no duvet.
Breakfast was typical eurpean buffet, cereal and juice, small selection of cheese and cold meat, some cooked items (eggs, bacon) and croissants/pastries. Small bar area which was well supported by several colleagues!! Didnt eat dinner here although there was a restaurant. However, no room service available.
Location wise, hotel is great. Across the road is the underground and Westbahnhof station-very easy to navigate. We did a walking tour of the city and Vienna is very beautiful-amazing architecture, stunning buildings and fabulous shops all around St Stephens square. If you like beautiful deli style cafes and shops this is a great place-OH is really into this stuff so bought him lots of gifts of nice jams, chocolates and dont forget to pick up some sachentorte!! Yummy!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a conference. It was a nice, clean hotel. The part of town was a bit far from the excitement, but it was close enough to the underground train station to get us where we needed to go. The room was tiny, but the bed was OK and it was quiet. Breakfast was included with the conference and I like the food, it was very digestion friendly for this US traveler! I would suggest it for the US visitor to Austria, but if I was picking myself...I'd be at the Hotel Sacher! OK for me.

Hotel sito un pò lontano dal centro, ma vicinissimo a stazione
della metropolitana ed alla Mariahilfer Strasse ricca di negozi e
centri commerciali. Eravamo i 4 (2 adulti + 2 ragazzi) e ci è stata
assegnata suite composta di 2 camere spaziose e confortevoli,
pulite e ben tenute.
