I didn't have any major problems at this hotel, it just is really quite a dump. In the restaurant areas there are lots of flies. This is one of those hotels where a "king bed" is really two beds pushed together. Instead of an iron in my room I had lots of food and drinks scattered about with cards indicating how much they cost. There's no clock. The furnishings are old. Overall just not very comfortable. I'd recommend paying a little more and staying somewhere nicer.

Acceptable, but not four stars

Stayed here in September. The four stars must have indicated special amenities, certainly not the rooms which are average. There is no airconditioning which is required in all but the winter months, I think. The one window didn't let much fresh air in. Bathroom was efficient and worked fine. The furnishings and carpet in the room were a bit "tired."
Breakfast had good choices.
Reception was very friendly.
If it is on your way somewhere for just one night, it's an ok choice.

Mercure Atrium Hannover: The hotel is newly refurbished with modern Accor concept. We stayed in a standard double room for 3-weeks. The interior of the room is basic but the room space is just right (not too small neither big). The rooms are well-serviced with clean sheets and fresh towels.
The service at the hotel reception was very satisfying, any enquiry you will be entertained.
The daily breakfast buffet selection is good value for money. However, I wouldn't recommend dining here for lunch & dinner. The quality of lunch & dinner food isn't 3 or 4-stars. You may be deceived by the large crowd during lunchtime, but it is probably the crowd from a business lunch. You are better off dining at one of the sandwich outlets (walk 10min or take a bus towards the exit of the 'Messe Schnellweg'). Otherwise, take a tram (behind the Concordia building) and go to the centrum.
On overall, I can recommend this hotel for its good service, clean & reasonable roomsize. The location of the hotel is not remote, but be prepared to drive or walk (for 10 mins) to have more food options. You can get to the Hannover centrum by tram (approx. Euro2.40- coins only) without much hassle.
