This hotel is located near to the central station and at about 5 minutes by tram from the HS station.
Rooms have been recently renovated and are very nice. The shower cabin is huge and allow a view of the room and outside.
Fourniture are also modern and very confortable.
Nice hotel to stay but very expensive compared to other ones...

Stayed for four nights. As noted previously, rooms are recently renovated and modern. Large work desk, spacious shower, lots of coat hangers. Mini bar is tiny, a glass fronted fridge the size of two shoe boxes. For the price this hotel lacks some of the amenities and features I would normally expect. There is no ironing board in room (available at reception only), more important for a business hotel than a travellers hotel to avoid those ghastly wrinkled shirts in a meeting. No gym!
There are a few tables in the lobby for dining adjacent to the cosy bar, definitely not the ambience of a large hotel restaurant, limited menu. There is room for a larger restaurant on the 1st floor but this space is assigned as a spartan breakfast room. The usual continental selection and a hot English breakfast unwavering from day to day with a selection of beans, scrambled egg, bacon, sausage, tomato and mushroom. Even a choice of fried or poached eggs would have broken the monotony.
WIFI internet uses the T-Mobile hotspot service. Expensive by the day but only comes to 40 euro for the 7 day pass, so fairly economical for a big chain hotel. Also, this internet service carries over to other hotspots.
The staff are courteous and efficient. All in all a fair stay. With better restaurant options and a gym the Mercure would be better still.

We stayed for one night. The room was okay, having a nice atmosphere.
It is not big, but gives the impression of space thanks to a clever design. The shower is difficult to understand, though. The breakfast room, on the other hand, appears cheap. The buffet is not very diverse, and it is outrageously priced at 18.50 Euros.

What can I say? I can't fault this hotel in anyway. The price was excellent (84.5 Euros per night inc. breakfast) but bare in mind that this was a weekend rate (friday and saturday night). The rooms were immaculate and very smart. The bathrooms were very nice with a lovely big shower which had a window so who ever is in the bedroom could see you showering! Fortunately (I was with an friend and we were in agreement that we really didn't want to watch each other shower), there was a blind across the window so privacy was ensured! The TV had a good selection of channels, the beds were comfortable and there was a safe and a mini bar as standard. The only grumble I have is that they ran out of pastries at breakfast on the first morning of my stay. As you can see, I am scraping the barrel to find anything wrong and the second morning, there were pastries galour!!! As for distance to the sights, its no distance at all. Its a couple of minutes to a supermarket and the shopping presinct and another 5 minutes to the Parliment buildings. Also, the Tram 1 stops right outside to take you to the beach at Schevingen. There are also some great bars within 5 minutes.
