Das Mercure Place d'Italie liegt sehr zentral am gleichnamigen Platz, ist ein älteres, jedoch schon von außen sehr gepflegtes Reihenhaus und liegt an einer Metrostation mit 3 verschiedenen Linien in das innere Stadtzentrum. Das Hotel selbst ist sehr gemütlich, etwas älter ausgestattet. Der Empfang an der Rezeption war freundlich und auch auf Englisch konnte man sich gut verständigen, wenn das Französische nicht mehr ausreichte. (Leider hatte der Rezeptionist keine Ahnung vom Accor FavouriteCard-Programm!) Zum Besuchszeitraum war leider der Hotellift kaputt, sodass wir den Weg ins Zimmer über Treppen zurücklegen mussten. Allerdings wurden wir dafür auf ein Zimmer im 1. Stock umgebucht, ein sehr schönes großes Zimmer, was keineswegs den kleinen französischen Verhältnissen entspricht. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und auch das Bad war mit Badewanne sehr fein eingerichtet. Leider verfügt das Hotel über kein Restaurant, allerdings gibt es am Place d'Italie sehr viele interessante Restaurants, man ist also "voll im Leben", trotzdem ist das Hotel nicht laut. Das Frühstück wurde in einem kleinen Raum im Keller serviert, die Gestaltung des Zimmers war einfach wunderbar. Es war Vorweihnachtszeit und zwischen Baguette und Aufschnitt lauerten ein Schneeelch und viele andere süße Überraschungen. Wirklich sehr liebevoll und auch das Personal war sehr, sehr freundlich. Ein besonderer Tipp zum Ende: Sonntags ist direkt vor dem Hotel ein Wochenmarkt, die Atmosphäre ist super, früh aufstehen lohnt sich da doppelt.

We stayed for two nights in this nice hotel. Its really clean and the staff is very friendly and helpfull (all were speaking english). The hotel is situated just one minute from Place D'Italie where you will find the undergroundstation, restaurants, cafe's and a big mall. If you come by car its best to park your car in the parking under the mall. We payed €27,- for the weekend to park the car wich for Paris standards is cheap. You'll have to buy a pre pay ticket for this rate though. I would defenitly recommend this hotel!

Nous avons passé deux nuits dans ce bel hôtel. Il est très propre et le personnel est très aimable et disponible (ils parlent tous l’anglais). Situé à une minute de Place D'Italie et de sa station de métro, de ses restaurants, cafés et galerie commerciale. Si vous êtes en voiture, mieux vaut vous garer dans le parking sous la galerie. Nous avons payé 27 € pour tout le week-end, ce qui est bon marché pour Paris. Mais pour ce tarif il faut acheter un ticket prépayé. Je vous conseille vivement cet hôtel !

I stayed at Mercure Place d'Italia in April. I spent one night there with my boyfriend because the Ibis Bastille Opera (where we had spent 3 nights) was fully booked on the weekend. I took advantage of a special discount rate (110 Euros per night - normal rates 150-170 Euros). Hotel has a small but pleasant concierge. I personally liked the corridors at our floor, walls wallpapered with red fabric and some Robert Doisneau framings around. Rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean with TV, air conditioning, minibar, soap, shampoo.... As to location, it is not so central but close to underground. I would recommend this hotel and would definately go back.

I stayed here when my local fave La Manufacture was fully booked recently. The location is excellent -- real Paris rather than the touristy centre of the city with markets, cheap cafés and restaurants, really handy for the Place d'Italie metro with direct links to the Eiffel Tower, Galeries Lafayette, Notre Dame and Pont Neuf etc and making it easily accessible for arrivals into Gare du Nord and CDG airport. The market outside three or four times a week has to be seen to be believed and the famous rue Mouffetard is also a 10-minute (downhill) stroll away. What is more, the famous Quartier de Butte aux Cailles (Quail's Rise) is just around the corner. Now for the hotel itself: friendly enough reception staff though the foyer is a bit sterile and impersonal in my opinion, the room was fine, large enough though with a rather migraine-inducing psychedelic orange colour scheme. Bathroom was also more than adequate with a great powerful shower and a tub. I never partook of breakfast as I prefer a café round the corner on Avenue des Gobelins. Though be sure to check out the amusing mistranslations of French dishes on the menu in the hotel lift. At 140 euros my room wasn't cheap but it was comfortable and handy for the places I wanted to be. I'll never be persuaded away from La Manufac' but this is a decent alternative
