I absolutely would not recommend this hotel.
The food was bad.
The walls are thin and the people around us were noisy.
The Reception staff and 'Duty Manager' were unhelpful at best and on leaving, exceptionally rude.
We booked to have dinner bed and breakfast and had to remind them of this - we wished we hadn't. We were the only ones in the restaurant at dinner and the food was distinctly average.
In the first room we went to, we asked to open the door to the terrace - we were told the key had gone missing! this door led outside, meaning we did not feel at all safe in our room. We were re-located next door and saw a poor old couple being put in our first room minutes later.
A bad experience.

Lots of charm in a building with a long history. Perfect if you would rather have something distinctly English rather than a spotless, modern hotel experience. Highly recommended.

Stayed for Saturday night for our wedding anniversary. Staff extremely helpful with arranging a delivery of flowers, put into our room as suprise for my wife. Dealt with 3 members of staff, 2 reception and barman who all appeared to like working there and were genuinely please to help.
Excellent room, very clean with tea/coffee and complimentary flapjack bite things (really tasty!)
Great price too, £80 including a really good breakfast - All sorts available to help yourself to - eggs (scrambled/poached/fried/ bacon/black pudding/ beans/ mushrooms/ cereals/ muffins/ fruit/ hams.

We were attending a wedding in farnham and needed somewhere local to stay overnight. the mercure bush seemed best suited as it was centrally located which was ideal as we would not have to drive some distance and the hotel website pictures looked good, however when we arrived it was very apparent that the pictures were probably taken many years ago when the hotel was extended, the furniture and fixings are very tired and should have been retired to the dump. there were obviously leaking pipes on both sides of the bathroom, the wall next to our bed had water stains and mould along the bottom which made the room smelly. The radiators were dirty ,the bathroom one was covered in rust. You expect a certain standard especially when you are paying over a £100 per night, this hotel does not come up to that standard. I find it incredible that this hotel has a three star rating

This hotel was once an old coaching inn and is well located in the centre of town. There's good carparking provided free for guests.
The entrance to the hotel is unimpressive. To get to reception from the carpark you must walk past the kitchen - not the best first impression but at least it looked clean.
Once inside, the lobby is small and well furnished and we were attended to in a pleasant manner. The public rooms are charming and most look out onto a well manicured lawn with pretty borders.
Our room was 315 on the second floor - a long walk and there are no lifts. It was not a hot day but the top floor room was hot and there was no air conditioning. There was some relief by opening the small, single window. I was really happy there were sheets and blankets rather than a thick doona. The room was average in size and although clean, was a little drab because of the old fleur de lys wallpaper. It really needed refurbishment. There was a hospitality tray and free bottled water - a nice touch.
Breakfast which was included in our rate of 120 pounds, was good and excellent service was provided. However unless you can get this rate I would not consider the hotel good value.
In summary, if you are thinking of staying here in summer I would steer clear of rooms on the top floor - they get hot and only have small windows. I would also ask for a room which has been refurbished. Otherwise, it's a pleasant 3 star hotel - a little overpriced but that's Surrey for you.
