Stayed there on our first night in Tasmania, thought it would be a safe option.we were arriving fairly late after a 16 hour day travelling and I had made the hotel aware of this before arrival. However when we got there wasn't anyone available to help with our bags so I struggled up the incline with a trolley while my partner tried to find a parking space in the car park, I almost spat the dummy in the foyer as it was obvious that I was struggling and the receptionist watched from behind the desk, I then suggested that she got someone to take our bags to our room for us when someone became available which she thought was a great idea!!( Not a great start)
The room was average to say the least for a big hotel name, we had stayed in a Mecure before in a different city and loved it, so it was slightly disapointing.
Ordered room service which was great and not to expensive.
The internet was easy to access and was good ( I work on all my holidays unfortunately)
Bed was just a double but it was quiet so slept well.
Left feeling underwelmed !!!

Stayed here for a couple of days & attended a wedding held in the function room. I think for a big name hotel is was very average.
We had booked a family room (we have 2 kids) and were given a room with a double & a single. I was about to call reception to say there was a mistake when I discovered a trundle bed under the single. It had not been set up or made. When we tried to assemble it on its folding legs I felt it was too unstable for the safety of my child and left it low on the floor even though it was wobbly due to the folded legs. If you sat on one end the whole bed tipped up!
Our room had no air conditioning only a pedestral fan. The windows opened but I kept them shut as they had no screens and I was worried my children may fall out the window as their bed butted up agaist the window at legde height. Some of the other rooms had air conditioning so this was a bit strange?
The hotel carpark is behind the building and uncovered. You have to pay a daily rate for its use.
The hotel is centrally located to the shopping district. It is an easy walk to the Monkey park, Car Museum, Boag's Brewery as well.
The only time we ate at the hotel was during the wedding reception. The food was below my expectations but there was a concerted effort. The wait staff seemed very flustered the whole time although trying their best to help.
During our stay there seemed to be a new busload of holidaying Seniors coming and going everyday. This must be there bread & butter business, contracts with the coach companies.

Parking was not a problem because we got to the hotel early. Could be hard to find a spot if you left it too late. Reception very good but unfortunately it was all down hill from there!
The bathroom floor, shower recess and sink had hairs in them! We tried to contact housekeeping but they were not answering the phone! I know the hotel was busy but still.... also the bin in the bathroom hadn't been emptied. Yuk!!!
We decided to stay because Launceston was literally booked out. Got back to the hotel at 10.30pm and there was some sort of very, very loud party going on in the function room below us. Again my husband rang reception and was dealt with very rudely. We went out into the corridor where other guests were milling around wondering what to do!! Yes, the noise was that loud.
It became quieter after an hour or so but the night reception could have handled the situation a little better.
Not a great experience!
