Inexpensive, Above Average Florianopolis Accor Hotel
Guest name: Anonymous
The hotel is off the beaten path: close by. . 1/4 mile to the university. It is not by or on the beach. Views from the windows are of other condo's behind and an Oncological building out the front across the main street. A nice beach and walk strand is about 1.5 miles away as are all of the restaurants and it is situated very well for driving to the Atlantic ocean in about 15 minutes. For $80 dollars a night it is above average, as it is clean, spacious room, well equiped with a mini kitchen, refridgerator and most important to all of us travelers an Air Conditioning system that works very well. Buffet in the mornings until 10 a.m. . . and very good I might add. Even though the corridors are tile, I was able to sleep to 10 a.m. every morning without problems. (wonder if this would be a problem with more guests or in the high season of January) My gripes: this room has a corner shower (no tub) this shower enters from the corner with two panels moving at 90 degrees from one another . . there is ONLY 14 inches of clearance to get in or out. . .simply unacceptable in most parts of the world. . . if I were smaller say 50 kgs/100 lbs. . .no sweat but I am twice this plus some and the doors skin me a bit. The hotel has valet car service and it works very well with the parking garage under the South side of the first floor. My other [--] is that if you enjoy playing pool/billards, the table is NOT playable as there is no cue space at almost all of the corners due to tight space. . ..therefore if you enjoy playing DON'T as it is only an aggravation. Sauna and pool are more than adquate as is the outdoor patio.
For the money, I do not feel as if you can beat this for service, quiet, comfort and accessability. I give it a 4 star rating.
