I stayed here one night on a recent trip to Chievres and would have stayed the following week but they were full which lead me to the horrible Best Western Lido.
The Mercure is out in the woods. Quite peaceful. We ate dinner from the fairly limited menu. It was good but a bit overpriced. Breakfast was good also with the ability to boil your own egg. Again, maybe overpriced at 16 euro.
The bar area and outside sitting area was peaceful and a great place to enjoy a Rochefort beer which was reasonably priced at 3 Euro.
The rooms were decently furnished. At least there was A/C. Beds were comfortable.

We went there for a weekend, to relax. The hotel is located in a quiet area (woods). Not a good area for walking though. The city is also not within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated, the bathroom was not so nice. Hotel and rooms are clean, but not spotless. This is an old building that was redecorated, which shows. Staff are friendly, however at check-in they forgot to mention that the restaurant was closed. There are some restaurants close to the hotel, but you need a car and directions. This was a good hotel for the price we paid, but I would not recommend it for weekend breaks.

Stayed on way back from Austria. We had been rather spoilt by excellent stay en route to Austria at Mercure Sindelfingen an der Messe which had been superb value for money and excellent service. Mercure Mons in a better location, woodland setting but not as high a standard as Sindelfingen. Staff were very pleasant but I would agree that they seemed overstretched, only one girl on breakfast duty. Breakfast also disappointing, much of it prepacked portions and nowhere near as much choice. However hotel was clean and functional. As I say, we were biased due to excellent experience for half the price at Sindelfingen.
