Good Rooms - demand Business club room on top floor!

When we reached, we demanded better quality room on 5th floor, which faced the back, and hence had low noise poolution.
After some dilly-dallying, they agreed to give us the one, which are generally given to business travelers, holding Business Club card.
These were excellent rooms with full marble bathrooms and open balcony. Of course, there are no ACs in Zurich hotels, which can cause rooms to be little muggy, even in October. Night temperature was pleasant, aroung 50-60 F
The manager on duty was nice to us, and was able to give us info about the trams, such as tram#3 coming from main train station to the hotel, or tram#2 going to the lake excursion site.
In a hurry, the hotel room key has come with us, as in this era of using magentic card to open to the door, I am no more used to returning the keys during check out!
Location is about 10 minutes from the main station, and there are bars and restaurants in the vicinity.

I stayed at the Stoller Mercure for two nights in mid August 2007 on a business trip; most hotels in town had no vacancies for two consecutive nights so I was pleased to find a four star and that it was part of the usually reliable (it is predictable what you get) Accor chain.
Receptionist was offhand and glued to his seat to the far side of the office and had to lobb the keys to me. Room was OK, but had no air conditioing and it was very hot; windows opened but very noisy. Picked up free Wifi in the room. Breakfast was very below par.
On this experience I could not recommend this hotel.

This hotel was fine. Probably not a 4star hotel as portrayed, but it was fine anyway. The room was a decent size, the bathroom was fine. The bed was comfortable, but unfortunately they pillow was XXL size and I ended up waking up with a neck ace. The staff was friendly. Location is not that bad as said by many. It has a very convenient tram connection to the lakeside. Tram no 2 going to the lakeside, and Tram no 3 going to the main station which is the start of the long shopping streat that leads down to the lake side.
