We paid about $60 for a poolside room and were very happy. The room was nice and was quiet and the bathroom was good. The hotel is large and fun to walk around. We only ate breakfast there and we liked the large buffet. There were lots of families with children there. The laundry rates were not cheap so we washed some clothes in our sink and hung them to dry on our balcony. I noticed a staff member looking up at us from the pool and wondered if this was going to be a problem. A few minutes later there was a knock on our door and a staff member was there to inform us that the hotel was offering us complimentary drying of our laundry, which we greatly appreciated. The hotel is just a couple of minutes from the train station. You can walk there. You could also walk to the Keraton, but it would be a long walk, probably more than 30 minutes. It is about 20 minutes walk to Malioboro street, the main shopping area. The hotel doesn't seem to have it's own website, which is too bad. We booked on a third party site and paid a slight premium compared to the walk in rate, but it was a great rate anyway.

Standard room is a bit small, but still good value. If possible upgrade to the rooms around the very nice swimming pool.

What a fantastic hotel! The staff is perhaps the friendliest I have ever met, from the doorlady (?) to the bellboy, the receptionists, housekeeping staff…..everyone seemed genuinely happy to do their job (and looked stunning in their Javanese uniforms!). The hotel property is a beautiful blend of colonial and Javanese d?cor and the rooms are well-appointed, although a bit small. The spa was excellent too. We enjoyed our stay here, and wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
