We stayed in this Hotel for three nights. The room was small but adequate and cosy, no drawers to store anything but we managed as we were only staying for a long week-end. Bed was comfortable, there were extra pillows available if needed - TV channels were nearly all French - but what do you expect when you are in France! Breakfasts were very good. They had a little area with eggs, sausage, bacon. A juicer and oranges to do your own freshly squeezed juice or a choice of two other fruit juices ready made. Plenty of fresh bread, jams and marmalade. It was very clean and the staff were friendly. The lift broke down on our last day. Looking at previous reviews, it looks as though this is a regular problem.
All in all a very nice stay.

We had an enjoyable stay in this hotel at the start of March 2008.
The hotel is in a good central location in Lille which made exploring the old town easy on foot.
The main elevator was out of order for much of our 3 night stay. Fortunately it did work when we checked in as we were on the 5th floor.
We had a reasonable sized bedroom and a very large en suite bathroom which was almost as big as the bedroom.
The hotel and our room seemed to be both clean and quiet.
The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
The breakfast was only average.
We would probably use the hotel again assuming we could get a good deal.
If the elevator had been working thoughout our stay, I would have awarded this hotel an "Above average" rating.

Great location for getting about. Lift was not working on arrival and had to carry cases up 5 flights of stairs. On opening room door there was a definate smell which disappeared once room window was open-this was the case every time we came back from being out all day. Maid came every day over our 3 night stay and clean towels and soaps were replenished. There was no safe in our room. Did find a working lift at the back of the hotel. Very busy in the mornings for getting a table to have breakfast at, but staff try to deal with this problem in an efficient manner.
On our last day the smell had drifted down to the main reception and was unbearable. This hotel seems to have a sewage problem - though some parts of Lille also seemed to be experiencing this problem too!!
The bus tour around Lille is well worth the hour trip. It is very organised and enables you to pick out where you would like to go back and see.
Christmas market was ok, but, dont expect lots of stalls, in fact you could walk around it fairly quickly. On entering shops staff were friendly. Old Lille is very nice.

Stayed here one night with colleague, requested wakeup calls - both of us. i did not receive; he received, but an hour late. subsequently missed our eurostar connection to london, where we had to catch a plane.
total cost of their mistake: $350 (new eurostar tickets - old were non-refundable, and we were past the journey time; taxi from st. pancras to stansted, only choice to make our flight, which was the last flight out on that airline for the day!).
front desk couldn't have cared less. we could have been more emphatic the night before in regards to the importance of the timely call, but did not expect them to fall down on the job. too bad.
the hotel itself was fine. but the lifts being down meant everyone had to walk nearly three flights of stairs just to get to the 1st floor, where you could catch a lift higher. many elderly clientele in the hotel must have found that difficult, but the hotel appeared to have the same sense of urgency towards solving the problem that they did towards dealing with everything else.
i would not stay here again. frankly, we should have stayed upstairs from the lille europe station, as all the hotels in the center are equally uninspired. sort of an apples to apples comparison.
