The hotel is very comfortable, nice, very clean and on a very good place. Tram to the centre is 15 min approx.
The staff is very nice, obliging and hospitable. No problems in anything.
Food was brilliant, very tasty very rich and good quality.
The room is average size, nice and clean, but pay attention with booking not to be placed to smokers room if you are a non-smoker. It smells everywhere.

Having stayed in the centre of Cologne several times, and found it to be pretty expensive, especially when events or exhibitions are on, I decided to head out to the edge this time, as I travel to Dueren and there is a scarcity of hotels in that area! The Mercure is very close to the A1 and A4, so ideal for people that need to travel. Food in the evening was pretty good, with a better than average selection for a 3 star hotel. Breakfast was OK too, but better to get there earlier rather than later, as the selection decreases as the breakfast period moves on...! Basic room was comfortable and clean. The surrounding area is less appealing than central Cologne, so if you are looking for bars or restaurants, you'll be disappointed - it's close to a big retail park - but if you are on business in the area for a day or two, it works just fine.

I found this hotel really good value for money, as we got a good deal online. It was a little out of town but the regular transport (even on New Years Day!) wasn't a problem. We also discovered a lovely park en route so we were able to hop off the train and enjoy a stroll. I thought the buffet breakfast was really nice too. I would recommend this hotel for those looking for a quality and comfortable hotel without paying over the odds.

Stayed here for one night on way to Hungary. Usual Mercure standards and is ideal for stopovers. Room was clean, nicely furnished and quiet.
Dinner was buffet style - not what I prefer and choice was limited. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was usual continental spread with cheese, ham , cereals, croissants etc.
