I recently stayed at this hotel for three days whilst on a wine tour in the Loire. I was expecting a little more than a travelodge but was nicely suprised. The room, although fairly small, had recently been refurbished and had a flat screen tv, enough hanging space although not enough hangers, and drawer space. The bathroom was fine except there was a curtain not a screen which I prefer.
The lobby, bar and dining room were all modern, bright and clean. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was very good and very well priced too. The breakfast buffet was adequate, not brilliant and the staff seemed a bit flustered at breakfast especially on the second day when the hotel was full. Overall a very pleasant stay and would certainly stay there again. The hotel is next to a very pretty park with goats and exotic birds! It is also only about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and chateau.

Great hotel right on the edge of the Centre

This was a lovely hotel that was right on the edge of the centre of Angers. It was about a 3-5 minute walk to a pedestrian area with loads of shops and restuarants. (A good variety of reasonably priced restuarants -- not too touristy.) On the other side of the hotel was the Jardins des Plantes, which was a beautiful park with lots of trees.
The desk staff was always very friendly, and spoke excellent English. The breakfast (which was included in our rate) was very good, and had a huge variety (including eggs and hot/cold meat).
Our room was a standard 3* hotel room, again with a view of the park. The bed was quite confortable, and there was no issue getting a non-smoking room with a king bed, even though the hotel seemed full. The bathroom was fine, and they had fancy-seeming shampoo and soap.
Parking was inluded in the rate and was immediately below the hotel.
The only odd thing was that they were in the process of replacing their air conditioning system, so we didn't have AC and the ceiling of the hallway was all torn-up. Not a big deal since it wasn't hot when we were there.
Modern comfort in beautiful garden setting

We spent nearly two weeks at this hotel, using it as our base to explore the Western Loire. It's probably not the best choice for people seeking "old world" atmosphere...the decor is modern and comfortable, designed for business as well as leisure travelers (it is next to Angers' convention center). However, our quiet, non-smoking air-conditioned room was well appointed and spacious with a lovely view of the beautiful Jardin des Plantes located behind the hotel. The king-sized bed was firm but excellent for sleeping. Plenty of storage space, good Internet access from the room. Underground secure parking is available for a small fee (about 6 euro per day). Pets accepted (our dog was with us). The staff were unfailingly courteous and when we had a sudden pet emergency (the dog accidentally swallowed a small wasp), they dropped everything to find us a vet that would take us immediately.
Angers is a wonderful town with friendly, helpful people, pretty parks and gardens, impressive castle, excellent little restaurants.
We will definitely stay here again!
