Adequate for a night's rest

I've stayed here several times on business trips. The most recent time, I booked a "deluxe view" room and got a small room with a view of high rises. Room was basic with a fairly hard bed, desk and straight chair, small TV with satellite channels. Bathroom had standard amenities and an excellent shower. No drinking water supplied in the room. You have to buy bottled water in the minibar. Soundproofing is not great - I heard a guy next door coughing during the night. The buffet restaurant near the lobby is good, but crowded and very noisy. Room service food is fair. Service is always friendly. The hotel caters mostly to mainland Chinese and other Asian travelers and has a lot of services they like. They provide a lot of in-room massage services and on previous visits I had calls in the evening asking whether I wanted a girl to come to my room. (This is common in China but not in Hong Kong.) Location is OK because taxis are available and the subway is nearby. You will need them because the immediate area offers nothing. Adequate for a night's rest, but nothing special.

After reading the many great reviews, I decided to book this hotel on a lay over, before going into mainland China. I was definintely not disappointed! The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff is top notch. I booked a club room with a harbor view which was spectacular. Paul and Bob at the Concierge Desk were extremely helpful and true gentlemen. We took the ferry over to the Hong Kong island and went up to Victoria's Peak, which provided an incredible view. In regard to comments of this hotel being a bit away from the action, I was actually very pleased with that fact. After going to the "action" it was very nice to come back to such a relaxed environment. I will definitely stay here again when I am in Hong Kong, wouldn't stay anywhere else!

We booked the Harbour Plaza following a recommendation from our neighbour. Whilst slightly away from the main centres the shuttle bus and the ferries make travel quick and easy. The rooms where lovely (we had Harbour View rooms) and the view when you opened the curtains in the morning really set us up for the day!. Apart from one breakfast we did not use the restaurants - there is plenty of dning options in Hong Kong - but they did look a little expensive. However it really is a lovely hotel and we would recommend this to anyone visiting Hong Kong.

An absolute gem of a hotel. We upgraded on arrival to a club room, it had the most fantastic harbour view. I could go on writing for ever, praising this hotel but I think the best recommendation comes from my husband who organises group travel/conferences in 5 star hotels. He quite simply said he had never in all his working life ever encountered a better hotel. Thank you, to all the staff at the Harbour Plaza hotel, every single one of you were wonderful, we will be back.

I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights with 27 others for my brothers wedding. Hotel is very nice, the staff were very accommodating, location was ok if not a little far away from the action. The Harbour Grill restaurant was excellent, one of the best steaks i've ever had and the waiting staff were amazing. Definatley worth a visit even if you don't stay at this hotel.
