My husband and I stayed at Tongsai for 3 nights to celebrate my 30th. We were upgraded to a Grand Villa, which was a lovely surprise. It had a huge balcony with bath, kitchen area and day bed. The rooms inside were all very tidy and clean and had all the little extras we could possibly need. All the staff are so helpful and friendly and we felt very welcome from everyone we met.
One afternoon we visited the spa and had the "Return to Prana" couple's treatment (steam room, scrubs, outside bath and massage) - totally relaxing and the great way to spend 2-3 hours.
We ate at all 3 restuarants onsite, our favourite was Butlers. Breakfast was always a large selection and the made to order omlets were very nice.
We had a totally relaxing time and were treated so well by the staff. Looking forward to returing (hopefully for longer this time!).

Stayed in the Tongsai for the second week of our honeymoon, and we were quite disappointed it had a lot to live up to after staying in the Layana in Koh Lanta for our first week. We stayed in a cottage suite which had a beautiful sea view with a private balcony and bath, however the rooms were very dark and not that comfortable. There was also construction to the rooms which were right next to the main pool so it was hard to relax listening to the hammering and sawing! The biggest let down in the resort was the food, Floyds at the beach was hit and miss. Chef Coms was terrible! So we usually ended up getting a taxi to Bo Phut or chaweng to have dinner. Not really 5 star standards! The resort itself is beautifully maintained and the staff were very polite. Overall we felt there something missing?. Enjoyed our 9 days stay but wouldn't return to the Tongsai Bay.

Have just returned from 5 nights at the Tongsai Bay after 2 nights at the Oriental in Bangkok. We loved the Oriental so much we were afraid that Tongsai Bay wouldn't be as good, but it was!
We stayed in the grand villa, which was spectacular. Balcony was huge and the view incredible. Rooms very clean and they keep leaving you complimentary snacks and fruit.
Service here is also top notch. Chef Chom - the thai restaurant is superb. Service here is great and food is outstanding. Same with Butlers. Breakfast is also good.
My only one bother was the tipping which I absolutely have no problem with. However, I don't like to feel like i HAVE to and that i owe them something, especially when service is added onto the bill. And that is how they made us feel at Floyds. To cut a long story short, it was our first night having arrived 2 hours before jet lagged and not feeling so great. We didn't take any cash with us whilst getting our bearings and thought we would just sign for our evening meal. Basically they didn't know i could understand Thai and they were quite rude. If i hadn't understood Thai then i'd be none the wiser.
Apart from that the resort was great.
If you stay here, you must try their massage - in room or at the spa. I've had a lot of massages and the ones i had here, are up there with the best.
Both their pools were great - never crowded, beach boys/towel boys make up your lounger and keep you topped up with water and ice. You just need to wave a flag if you need anything. Sea was also lovely to swim in. Sand on the beach is coarse, but not a problem.
All in all i would definitely go back. Apart from my one comment about service at Floyds service everywhere else was brilliant.
They're environmentally friendly which we also liked.
Should also mention that we booked through Kuoni who were superb.
Our best holiday so far.

Tongsai Bay is an eco aware paradise! Wonderful and friendly staff, 5 star facilities, and an utterly beautiful location which they have done as much as possible to protect and leave unharmed by tourism.
I stayed in one of the cottages suites with my partner and it is the ideal romantic getaway. The cottages are spacious, clean and perfectly appointed. Our cottage had an outdoor bath on the balcony that was secluded and offered spectacular views. The pools and private beach are fantastic too - there really isn't a bad thing to say about Tongsai Bay! I particularly recommend the Prana Spa for some luxurious pampering - treat yourself, it's worth it!
