i had read the reviews about this hotel and was expecting small rooms. I admit the rooms were compact but i was not expecting much for the low price i was paying! i would say it was big enough for one person but not really for two. bathroom was clean and modern . It was located conveniently for the metro system, which was about 10mins maximum from the central stations. There are plenty of neighbourhood shops around to get snacks and stuff, although the main shopping is further away. It was quite easy to get a taxi or the metro from there to places of interest.

It was purely a business trip. We stayed for 3 nights, and visited two exhibition halls, and went to our supplier's demo centers. We walked a lot, thats why we appreciated the location of IBIS Hotel, just a few steps away from the MTR. Because of the major exhibits being held, the cost of the other hotels are terribly high and almost always fully booked. It was good that our supplier was able to get us accommodation at IBIS.
We travel light and had only 2 small luggages with us. So its not a big problem for us cause the rooms are "cute"and beds are small, so don't recommend to tall and stout people, although I saw a lot of westerners checked in. But all basic necessities, like clean towels, beddings, soft pillows, hair dryer, television, plenty of sockets for charging mobiles and laptops, space for hanging clothes, mini ref and safe, electric water pot, coffee and tea are available in the room. The mini ref is empty, so you can store your own stuff. You can adjust the air conditioning. Curtains are sunlight proof. But the walls are not so sound proof.
Be sure your toiletries are stored in a hanging container, as the bathroom is quite small and you don't want them falling into the toilet bowl. On our return trip, we just walked across the hotel to the bus terminal in front, and took the airport bus.
The breakfast buffet does not offer much choices, but you go out and plenty of affordable restaurants are serving good food.

I arrived more than four hours before my check-in time due to an early morning flight, but the desk staff were exceptionally helpful in making up a room for me rather than keeping me waiting with my luggage, at no extra cost.
Paying the little extra for a harbour view is well worth it and really made the stay extra special with a superb panorama from the 17th floor.
Okay, the rooms are small, but hey this is Hong Kong and, for the money, what do you seriously expect?
Still I found the rooms to be a decent enough size, probably helped by the fact I was travelling on my own, but the A/C, TV, fridge, bathroom etc all worked fine. An earlier report on here had criticised the 'rock hard beds'. Okay, they are very firm, but personally I like that so another tick in the box.
Overall this was a very interesting base from which to explore HK, and with the MTR and bus station right on the doorstep you can get anywhere without any real hassle. You could spend much more on a luxury hotel, but in terms of value for money over a three-day stay to have a look round this city, this is a winner.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SERIOUSLY ATTROCIOUS!!!
My friend and I booked a room for a month. Besides the fact that the rooms are the size of a queen-sized bed, with a sliver of an entrance with an itty-bitty bathroom squished in to the right, we could deal with it ( since we're low-maintenance, and were going to travel to other countries, and needed somewhere for our basic needs).
In general, the people there treated my friend and I alright because we're cute. But whenever we called down and spoke in chinese for extra towels or something, they would be very rude say, "yes" then hang-up aruptly then take forever for the stuff to arrive, making me call them again and having them get short-fused with me. Unbelievable. I thought they gave the same treatment to everyone until I saw on multiple occasions, (like whenever the magnet on my door key wore off) where I would go up to the front desk, only to have them hurry me along with no warmth, then without skipping a beat, and not even finished dealing with me, see them rush over, with lights in their eyes whenever foreigners arrived! They would suddenly be gracious in their manners, very accommodating, speak english, and kiss-[--].
They are definitely racist against their own people. I happen to be chinese, and I honestly can see the immediate difference when I stopped speaking cantonese and spoke straight english; I'm american born. So if your foreign, you look rich, or you have a giant-wad of cash and speak english, you're straight.
If you think I'm done, your sadly mistaken. What I wrote before was nothing, just the tip of the ice. Here's what really gets me:
Like I said, the place is so damn small, my roommate was boiling some water with a portable boiler included in the room, but there was no where to put it. One socket was located in the sliver of a doorway where the bathroom is, and above is an open closet area. Too bad there was no room to put the portable boiler so she stuffed it in the small closet area, where wonderfully, the cable too long and hanging, and I commenced to come out of the bathroom, trip over the cord, resulting in hot boiling water pouring down both legs.
Now, that's not their fault. The room was small, [--] happens. NOW, when I hobbled my crippled body to the shower to get doused with freezing water (which the hotel doesn't supply), my friend calls the front desk to call an ambulance and explains about the incidence. First, whoever answered at the front desk, proceeded to give [--] to my friend for not speaking chinese clearly, THEN TOLD MY FRIEND AND I TO CALL A TAXI AND HAUL OURSELVES TO THE HOSPITAL!!!
HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO WALK?! I'M IN SHEER AGONY!!! WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT IS THIS??
I proceeded to hop with all the strength left in me (sheer rage powering me) flung myself onto the bed where I ripped the phone outta my friends grip and I cursed the living hell out of him,(all in crystal clear english, mind you) demanding an ambulance or I will get him fired, let alone write reviews online so that NO ONE will come to this insensitive hotel!!
After wasting time where my burns could have been salvaged as 2nd degree burns, they became third degree burns (joy). The ambulance came and as I was going down, strapped onto a bed, with two dudes hauling me, some worker from the hotel decided now would be a good time to ask if I was alright. DO I LOOK ALRIGHT? TOOK YOU LONG ENOUGH, JACK[--]!
I didn't mean for this rant to go as far as it did, but it's necessary. TAKE MY WORD, GO ELSEWHERE FOR BETTER TREATMENT FOR ONLY AN ADDITIONAL $10.00 LIKE METROPARK HOTEL; MORE COMFY, SPACIOUS, AND I WISH I HAD! (I had been there on another stay 2 years ago)

Hotel, previously owned by other company, however perfectly in line with IBIS philosophy: tiny roooms for reasonable price. All a/c, floors for non-smokers. Harbour view is nice to have, however, the view is not so nice to struggle for it.
I was travelling alone, so no trouble at all with the size of room, however, if there are 2 of you and a lot of purchases on the list, you might consider another option.
The hotel has 16+ floors, but only 2 quite slow elevators, so you might need some patience, especially in the mornings and evenings.
There is underground station within 2 mins walk and great hot-pot restaurant around the corner, 7eleven store and market very close: all in all, if you are not into grand hotels, but prefer reasonably priced hotel in convinient location, this is the option for you!
