Après quelques jours à prendre des bains plutôt que des douches et après quelques lits étroits, il était temps de laisser tomber les petits hôtels français très charmants mais pas très pratiques pour aller dans un Ibis. Cet Ibis était 100% non-fumeur avec un parking juste devant la porte. Le personnel était courtois et prévenant, surtout le dimanche, car ils ont fait en sorte que nous puissions dîner dans cette ville devenue très calme. Une vraie douche fixée au mur et très chaude, un grand lit bien ferme……ahhhhhh. Super petite ville aussi.

After a few nights of baths rather than showers and a few narrow beds it was time to do the "Ibis" rather than a cute but somewhat impractical French Hotel. This IBIS was 100% non-smoking, with a flat carpark immediately out the door. The staff were courteous and helpful especially on a Sunday to ensure we could get a meal in the quiet town. Hot hands free shower, firm large bed ahhhhhh. Great little town.

If you are a cognac lover and like to stay close to Martell whenever you can, Ibis Cognac is the right choice. This member of the Accor hotel chain delivers the impression of a family driven business and is a direct neighbour to the vast complex of Martell distillery. Hennessy and Otard are just 3 min further. Quiet room, typical ibis breakfast (cold buffet), free parking for us with a location right in the center. For a good choice of evening restaurants walk to Place Francois 1er (e.g. Globus) or visit one of the chalet restaurants in the neighbourhood of this charming city. And: dont miss to enjoy at least one of the 8 distillery visits proposed by the world famous brands. Some are free - like Camus !
