Stayed at the Ibis Parkstadt for 3 days.
Pros- New, clean modern hotel. Great rate.
Cons- A bit far from the center of town. 15 minute walk to ubahn and 15 minute ride to the center of town. I guess that has something to do with the great rate. Staff helpful but not very friendly. You are out in the middle of apartments and office buildings. Nothing to do in the immediate area.
Not a bad hotel, if you want a great rate and don't mind a commute into town this will work fine.

Booked in advance from New Zealand, so didn't quite know what to expect. Caught the train to Alte Heide and tried to navigate our way to the hotel and had real trouble lugging our bags down the cobbled path. Turns out there was a muchhh faster way to the hotel so I recommed in advance finding a map and plotting the fastest route to the hotel from the train station if you're travelling on the subway. The hotel was pretty standard, small room and great bathroom, shower was awesome. No tea, coffee making facilities or fridge. TV was terrible for english speakers, 40+ channels and 2 in english (BBC and CNN) but what do you expect in a foreign country. Hotel was closeish to town and nice and clean. Free internet in reception, but quite crowded.

Travelling from the north from Munich by car, IBIS hotel is very easy to find. Unexperienced drivers should take care while driving the car into a very narrow and deep garage, they can save 6 Euro's a day while parking outside the hotel (plenty of room, safe area).
It's a pity that hotelrooms with two queens beds are very hard to find in Europe. This means that travelling with your family (2 adults, 2 kids) makes it much more expensive because you've to book 2 rooms.
The rooms were not to spacious but ok, clean, good beds and very quit. Friendly staff, they speak several languages and they were very helpfull. Breakfast was excellent, so we're very satisfied with the hotel.
Just one tiny point, the U-Bahn (station Milbertshofen) was a 15-20 minute walk, quit nasty while raining. There's also a bus to the station, but this didn't save much time. Problably the new tramway (under construction) will solve this problem in the future.

This new Ibis had only been open a couple of months when we stayed there for 6 nights in August. It had a lovely restaurant on site and friendly staff. The main problem we had was the lift. There were two of them, but getting up and downstairs in the morning (we were on the 7th floor) proved difficult as the lifts were commandeered by the chambermaids - we had to wait in excess of ten minutes on one occasion. There was free internet access in the reception area and we were informed that wi-fi access in all rooms was imminent. At 46 euros per room per night excluding breakfast it is well worth staying slightly out of town, but beware and don't follow the website's suggestion of taking the U-Bahn to Alte Heide! It is a LONG walk, and partly over unfinished paths as there is a great deal of development in the area. The best bet is to take the U-Bahn to Munchener Freiheith, just 4 stops north of the centre, and then Bus 123. It's around a 5 minute journey - just ask the driver - and a very frequent service.
